1 Peter 4:10 (NKJV) As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
The gifts, abilities and talents you have from God are not for yourself. They are to help you serve your fellow man and make a difference in this world, bringing glory to God. Today, be confident in who God created you to be by just being yourself. There are people out there who need what you have to offer. Let God make a difference in the people around you by working through you. Use your gifts, talents and abilities to serve one another and be like Jesus - leaving everyone and everything you come in contact with better than the way you found them.

The Firm Foundation
Luke 6:47-48 (KJV) Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock
Notice Jesus didn't say that the person who hears and acts on His words will never face a storm. He says that when you hear and act on His words, the storm will not overtake you. You shall not be shaken. In this illustration, I'm sure the person who is facing the flood is very concerned. Imagine the rain pounding, the water rising and beating against that house along with all the debris and logs, etc. that wash up when a flood comes. If this person had not taken the time to build a firm, solid foundation, I'm sure they would be expecting the worst. But when the foundation is firm and strong, you can trust in it. That's what God is saying to you today. Keep your eyes upon Him; read, listen and trust in His word and be a doer of that word. When the storms of life come, you won't just be trusting in yourself or your own abilities, Aflac, the Hartford bull elk or any other man-made institution. Your trust is in God and His word. He is able to perform what He says, and He will take care of you. When the trash of life and the attacks of the devil come in like a flood, stand firm and trust in God. He is your refuge and your strength, your supplier and your provider.

Calling Out
1 Thessalonians 4:16 (NKJV) For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
The words "hear ye, hear ye," once echoed in the streets accompanied by the clang of a hand-bell used to get the attention of the intended audience. When the town crier spoke these words, and rang the bell, the town's people knew an announcement was soon to follow. Perhaps it is time we again heard the voice of the crier; or perhaps the voice of one crying in the wilderness. And what might the crier say? Would he tell us to repent from our selfish pursuit and to seek the Lord first? Would he tell us to turn away from the love of this world and to return to loving God above all? Would he tell us the time of our Master's return is soon...even at the door? There is a clear message to any of us who will be still long enough to listen: Serve the Lord today in preparation for tomorrow. The voice of the crier is calling out to us. How long will we let his cry go unheeded?

Testing
1 Peter 4:12 (KJV) Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
Testing. Why does it happen? If God created us, knows all about us, knows the number of hairs on our head and the number of our days, He certainly knows how much faith we have and how we will react. The testing of your faith is not for God's benefit or information, it's for you. When you are tested, you find out what you are made of, what you are capable of, and what God is capable of on your behalf. You'll either find out that your faith isn't as strong as you thought, or that it is real and you can do all things through Christ! So don't be discouraged when the test comes, face it with confidence and know that God can do what He says he can do, and that His promises are for you, and when you put your faith and trust in Him He can cause you to come through the fire without even smelling like smoke! YES - you can pass the test!

Seen and Heard
1 John 1:3 (NKJV) that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
Of Whom do you witness? Of what do you testify? Who is someone who is called on to bear witness of something? Isn't someone who knows through firsthand knowledge about an event? Those who want to inquire may say, go get this person, because it is evident that he has seen, or heard. But what about a person who testifies but has not seen or heard? Wouldn't that person be considered a false witness? Someone who has experienced Jesus, and is continuing to experience Him, will bear witness of what he has seen, or heard. But there are others who testify of Christ but there is nothing in their own lives wherein they see Christ-they bear witness of a Jesus they have not known. Our testimony should be personal, and our witness, firsthand. Share whatever it is that Jesus has done in your life. There is no need to seek some way to make your testimony "more interesting." We witness of what we have seen and heard, not to sell, but to share-not to make quick-decision-converts, but lifelong disciples. Share what is real to you, and the Holy Spirit will work to make Jesus real to others.

The Star
Matthew 2:9 (KJV) When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
On that first Christmas night, a star led the Magi to the place where Jesus was. They found him there in the manger and rejoiced! Do you know that God has called and appointed you to be a light in a dark world? Many people, whether they are aware of it or not, are looking for the savior. They search for fullness, peace, acceptance and hope in many different things. The greatest thing you can do is to live your life in such a way that the light of Christ shines through you and points the way towards the Savior. Because when people find Jesus, they have truly found what they have been looking for. Let your light shine.

Peace
John 14:27 (KJV) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
When we think of peace in the world, thoughts of things being quiet, still, easy and euphoric may come to mind. Everything outwardly is easy and calm. This is how the world describes peace. When things are this way, life is usually easy and good. But what about the times when things are chaotic and there are wars and rumors of wars? When things outwardly appear frightening and there is talk of shortages, famines and pestilence, there is a way to have an inward peace. This kind of peace that comes from within is what causes you to rise above every negative situation. The peace of mind and inner stillness allows you to have joy in the midst of the storm and remain calm when everyone else is all but fainting from fear. This kind of peace is available to you and it is only found in Jesus Christ. Today when chaos and turmoil comes knocking on your door, look to Jesus to fill you with peace from within and you'll find yourself rising above every negative situation. Peace!

No Other Gospel
Galatians 1:8 (Amplified Bible) But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to and different from that which we preached to you, let him be accursed (anathema, devoted to destruction, doomed to eternal punishment)!
These are strong words from Paul concerning the gospel, or good news, that he preached. So, just what kind of good news did Paul preach that he was so emphatic that it not be altered or changed in any way? Well, if we read the epistles written by Paul, we find a common theme of Love, Salvation by faith apart from the works of the Law, Freedom from the Law of Moses, Healing, Deliverance, Gifts of the Spirit, Righteousness before God, Holy before God, Blameless before God, Blessed by God, Sanctified, Sealed by the Holy Spirit, Filled with the Holy Spirit, and Christ crucified. It is price of the blood of the crucified Christ that bought us these gifts that are all wrapped up in the gift of salvation, available to all who receive them. It is the Good News that Paul preached that has not changed in over 2000 years, although some have tried to negate its validity.

The New Self
Ephesians 4:24 (Amplified Bible) And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God's image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.
The new self. It is not who you used to be, but who you are now in Jesus Christ. The new self is the new you, the new creation, that continuously identifies with the person of Christ. The old self, or the old nature is one that focuses on sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. But the new self is focused on love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. However, you have to choose to put on the new self. The context of "put on the new self" implies an action of putting on a garment or clothing. For example, someone may be getting on your nerves and you may feel like beating them over the head. However, if you stop and choose to put on gentleness like you choose to put on a coat when you're cold, you may not feel warm immediately but eventually that coat will cause you to warm up. In the same way, you may not feel like being gentle with someone, but if you'll choose to put on gentleness you'll find that as you focus on being gentle you will be conquering darkness with light. You will be overcoming evil with good. After all, God has created you to be an over-comer, not to be over come. If you're ever going to experience true peace and victory, you will have to choose to put on the new self, which is holy, true and right with God.

A Positive Impact
Psalm 126:1-2 (KJV) When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
Did you know that you can have a positive impact on those around you just by the attitude you show? You may have just gone through a trying time, or you may be in the middle of one. The Lord has promised to carry you through every situation you face in life, be it good or bad. When it's a tough time and you finally make it through, do you shout hallelujah and sing for joy, or do you spend the next six weeks talking about how bad things were and rehash every negative moment? If you'll have an attitude of praise and thanksgiving, God says that He will cause even your enemies to be at peace with you! By keeping a good attitude, you can have a lasting affect on those around you, and cause them to recognize that God is a good God!

Renew Your Mind
Ephesians 4:23 (Amplified Bible) And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude],
When you got saved, it was your spirit that got born again. Your spirit was made alive in Christ Jesus. Your soul and your body are still susceptible to the corruption in and of the world. If you are ever going to have victory in your physical life over sin and desires of your flesh, you will need to renew your mind to the things of God - the things of the spirit. Your mind is part of your soul - the mind, will and emotions. Renewing your mind is a daily commitment. It is a decision you make to spend time in the word of God, reading and meditating on the promises of God. You will learn to not be led by your emotions, but by the spirit of God. Discerning between right and wrong, good and evil and choosing to think and do the things that are pleasing in the sight of God. It is not a one time event like salvation is, but rather a process that takes time. Don't be discouraged, God has created you to be the victor, not the victim. If and when you make the decision to become more heavenly minded instead of earthly minded, God will be there to give you the strength to overcome, and He will finish the work He started in you.

Empty Praise
Matthew 15:8 (NKJV) These people draw near to Me with their mouth,And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
A quick prayer, then I was off to work. "Praise You God," I said. A question popped into my mind. For what was I praising Him-I mean-what specifically? Consider how we might respond to such praise from others. We might look at the person praising us and say, "Ok. So, what did I do?" Ok then, what did God do? He is certainly worthy of our praise, and has done more than we could ever aptly praise Him for, right? "Such as?" the question leads me further. My mind is drawn to Him. "Praise you because You have watched over me, and cared for my family," I begin. The list grows. And what was a simple thought of Him became intimate adoration. I meant it when I simply said, "Praise You God," but my words seemed to me like empty praise. But when my heart joined in, I moved from talking to God to worshipping Him. Psalm 9:1-2 I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

The word became flesh
John 1:14 (Amplified Bible) And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.
When the word of God came down and became flesh, the glory of God was present. When people began to release their faith with Jesus, miraculous, super-natural things began to happen. The impossible became possible. Where there once was no hope, no peace and no future, there was now hope, peace and eternal life. The blind began to see, the lame began to walk and the demon possessed were set free. The word of God is now written down for all to read and hear. If you'll mix the word with your flesh, by reading, studying and meditating the word of God, and you begin to mix your faith with it, you'll begin to see the miraculous and the super-natural. You'll begin to see things that were once impossible, now become possible. If you'll take the first step by confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life and turn and go the other way from the direction you've been going, you'll now have eternal life where there once was no future. You'll begin to have hope and peace where there once was no hope or peace. If you're not experiencing the abundant, fulfilled life that Jesus came to give, determine today to start over. Make today a fresh and new start. Start meditating on the word of God. Get it in your flesh. Renew your mind to it's power. As you read and hear the word of God and build your faith, release that faith and believe God for what He says to be true. You'll never be the same.

Excuses
Luke 14:17-18 (KJV) And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
Sometimes it seems the biggest thing holding us back is us. We often know the road to take, the correct way to act or react, or the proper attitude to have, but find ourselves all too often retreating behind a wall of excuses. "I can't," do this or that because--"I don't have the time, or the money, or the energy." Or perhaps, "It's not my gift, or my calling." Or maybe it's because, "They should ask someone better than me because I'm just not good enough." We blaze a trail of excuses that takes us far and away from opportunities to serve, to give, to love, and to live life to the fullest in Christ. In Jesus, we have callings, dreams, desires, and aspirations. We see in ourselves the potential to become something more in Him. We know that all things are possible with Christ, and that He can help us overcome all obstacles. The question then to ask is, "What's holding us back?"

The True Bread
John 6:32 (NKJV) Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
When the people of Israel were wandering the desert for 40 years, God gave them bread, or "manna" from heaven every day. The bread that He gave strengthened their bodies and enabled them to live another day. Jesus is the bread of life. He is the true bread that came down from heaven and when we partake of Him, we have life eternal. God can perform miracles everyday that can enable you to live another day in this world. However, the one miracle that you truly need is the one that was born in a manger over 2000 years ago. The greatest miracle that ever happened is the birth of Jesus and God's plan of redemption and salvation through Him. If you have Jesus, you have it all.

Positive or Negative Thoughts
Philippians 4:8-9 (The Message) Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious-the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
Satan specializes in worry, fear, anxiety, confusion, and doubt. And he will bombard our minds with those things if we allow him to. The devil is not a gentleman. If we leave the door open just a crack, he'll kick it wide open. Our minds are the only entrance satan has into our lives. That's why it's so important that we not let him dominate our thoughts. If we allow ourselves to thank negatively and worry, we will be defeated. We cannot think defeat and expect victory. We cannot think sickness and expect health. We cannot think poverty and expect wealth. Satan constantly tries to fill our minds with negative thoughts. He tries to confuse us and keep us from the peace we can experience in God. However, we don't have to give in to fear or worry if we keep our minds on the Lord.

Extinguish the Darkness
Romans 13:11-14 (The Message) But make sure that you don't get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. We can't afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don't loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!
If you're a Christian, you are a child of light. Goodness abides in light. Truth abides in light. Righteousness, joy and peace all abide in light. The devil comes to magnify himself and every negative thing above the light. He wants to get you focused on depression, frustration, envy, jealousy, strife, anger, resentment, hostility and every negative thing. He is trying to "bring into light" the things of darkness. And when you focus on those things, they begin to extinguish the light and the good things in your life that are from God. So when he comes and starts trying to magnify every negative thing, it is up to you to recognize his schemes and cast off the things of darkness by magnifying the things of light. Turn your focus from the negative circumstances, to love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Use these "tools", or armor, of light to extinguish and triumph over darkness!

Distorted Image
Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.
How do you see yourself? How is your inner image? The devil and his cohorts have an agenda against you. They want to give you a distorted picture of yourself. It started with Adam in the garden of Eden. God said he made Adam in His own image. Adam was like God. The devil came along and convinced Eve that she and Adam were not like God and caused them to sin. The Bible says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. The devil wants you to believe that there is something wrong with you. He uses every avenue he can to convince you that you are not pretty enough, smart enough, talented enough, strong enough, tall enough, skinny enough, good enough, etc. God has promised to give us everything pertaining to life and godliness. The devil comes along and tells you that those promises are not for you. If he can get you to believe his lies, he can keep you from reaching your destiny. If he can convince you that God won't provide for your needs, then he can stop you dead in your tracks. In Numbers 13, the Israelites saw themselves as grasshoppers and it disabled their faith to believe God's promise to defeat the enemy and enter into their promised land. God has equipped you for greatness. He has given you His strength, abilities, wisdom, name and authority to fulfill your destiny. If you believe the devils lies, you'll never reach it. But if you'll choose today to believe in your heart what God has said about you, and see yourself as God sees you, then the devil will be powerless against you and you'll be on your way to the great things God has in store for you. If you've been on the path to destruction, simply repent today and turn around and go the other way - standing on the promises of God!

Abundantly Above All
Ephesians 3:20-21 (Amplified Bible) Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]-- To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it).
There is an automobile club called Triple A. Members of this club can call for help any time, night or day, and help will be on the way. As members of the body of Christ, we also are members of AAA - the "abundantly above all" club. We can call on God any time, night or day, and He is able to do for us exceedingly "abundantly above all" that we can ask or think. That final word there is AMEN - which means "so be it". It's as good as done, you just have to believe. God is pleased with faith. Have faith and believe today that God can do more than you ask or think. We serve a "too much" God. He wants to pour out His goodness on you to overflowing, so it can spill out on those around you. You don't have to live oppressed below the circumstances, you can rise above! So believe big and think even bigger. After all, you're a member of AAA - Abundantly Above All!

Divided Loyalties
Matthew 6:24 (Amplified Bible) No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in).
In one hand, hold the things of this life-in the other, the things of God. Examine them closely. How do you bring the two together in a way that honors God? In regard to some of the things of this life, you may say to yourself, "I need to do" this or that. But then look at the other hand (the things of God). How does what you feel you need to do, blend with what God has at hand for you? If it is of God, it will blend well. Your talents, abilities, things you need to do, and ambitions can all blend nicely and be offered up to God as a service to Him. God's Word tells us to do all things as unto Him. What hinders us from doing this? Divided loyalties? Limited time? Selfishness or laziness? Good intentions, but not what God intends? Each person's list may differ. But we can be sure that God has given us all we need to accomplish His will in our lives. We do not have to juggle what's in our hands. We simply must let go of the excess that we are not meant to hang on to.

Never Thirst
John 4:13-14 (King James Version) Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
There is only so much time for us on this earth, and only so much room in our hearts. There are only so many things we can do and only so many lives we can come into contact with. What shall we spend the hours of our day searching for, and what shall we seek beyond the living waters of the Lord? To fill our hearts with the desires of Heaven, the things of God, the cares of Christ, the love of humanity, the burden for the lost, the ache for the hurting-these are things that move us through this life and bring to us fulfillment-they are the things we shall carry into the next life as well. But if our hearts are filled with the cares of this life, material cares, self-concern (present and future), personal comfort, daily bread-if these things are what fill our hearts they are the things that are spent and will not last. We cannot take them with us into Heaven and they will leave us empty here on this earth.

There Is Good News
Joshua 1:9 (Amplified Bible) Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Do you read the headlines? How about the reports on the evening news? Let's bring it a little closer - do the people around you talk of fear and the uncertainty of the things that are happening and the things to come? There is good news. Jesus is still LORD! Yes, He's the same Lord who said "I'll never leave you or forsake you." God is still the same God who promises protection and provision for His people when we abide in Him. Live your life and be about the father's business. What is His business? Telling others about Him and being a reflection of His love in your words and actions. When you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, there is no need to fear. The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives inside of you. He is with you wherever you go. He is always there to bring you comfort, hope, peace, joy, wisdom and to guide you in all truth, and to protect and provide for you. The next time you hear people around you expressing their fears and anxieties, tell them of the hope and peace you have in Jesus. And be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go!

God Knows
Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV) A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
God has put dreams and desires in everyone. Sometimes we don't have any idea on how it will happen. Other times maybe we think we have it all figured out. But God does not have to listen to our counsel. He will not conform His plan to our ways. He desires that we conform our ways to His plan. His plan includes your dreams and desires. Although you may have plans that sometimes fail, don't be discouraged. Keep following Jesus. Keep listening for guidance from the Holy Spirit. Don't lose sight of the goal, and trust God to take you there one step at a time. You may not always see the full picture, but God already knows the process. Even waiting is a step. It's a part of the process. When you're on God's path, one step at a time, He will take you to where you need to be.

Heart
Psalm 19:14 (King James Version) Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Why is God so concerned with what is in your heart? Because the condition of your heart, or your inner most being, is your spiritual condition. If what is in your heart is not good, then what shows up in your actions is not going to be good either. God has set you apart to be "light" in a dark world. If you continually focus and meditate on the wrong things, then the words you speak will begin to reflect what you focus and meditate on. Pretty soon your actions will follow your words and your thoughts. That is why so many people are in a depressed, negative state. They continually focus and meditate on the negative things in life. They begin to speak the negative and hopeless things that they have been thinking about. Pretty soon their actions have caught up to their words and thoughts and they go around with a negative outlook, and negative and depressed actions. They are un-motivated, un-inspired and complacent. If these are the habits that you have developed, then make a commitment today to begin to focus and meditate on the positive things of God. As you fill your heart with the promises of God, your words can't help but follow what you're thinking, and what is on the inside will begin to show up on the outside. You will begin to be able to bring light into the dark circumstances of this world. That light is Jesus himself, and when Jesus shows up on the scene, things change!

Remember
Ephesians 2:12-13 (King James Version) That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
No one is born into Christianity. We all have to make a choice. Those who have made the choice to trust in Jesus Christ all have a past. We all came from somewhere and we were all once ungodly sinners destined for hell. But, though we don't focus on our past, we should never forget where we came from. There are people we see and meet every day who are the reprobates, the outcasts, the evil-doers, the hell-raisers, those who are blinded from the truth by the gods of this world. Though we don't approve of their deeds or their lifestyle, it is our job to show them the love of God. It's the next door neighbor who treats you nasty. It's the co-worker who talks incessantly and ignorantly. It's the gang member, the prostitute, the homosexual, or even the nice guy or gal down the hall that doesn't believe there is a God. They may never see Jesus in anyone else but you. Pray for wisdom and strength every day that your life is a portrait of what the Savior is really like. And although you may fail, remember His second greatest attribute after love, is forgiveness.

Holding On
John 10:28 (KJV) And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
A little boy was given a piece of chocolate, which he decided to hold onto for later. After a while of holding it tightly in his hand, he opened his hand to find the chocolate had melted and left a mark in his hand. The chocolate sure didn't last very long. In fact, it didn't even make it to the boy's mouth. So much of what we hold onto in this life is like the chocolate-melting away. We hold tightly to things that seem real, yet have no truly lasting qualities. What is real to you? What do you hold on to? Is God real to you? Are you holding on to Him, knowing He is more real than anything else? A couple of thousand years ago, Jesus took up a cross for you and me. He held us in his heart and mind as he was crucified to redeem us. What He did left a mark on His hands that will never melt away. Consider today what you hold on to. Is it real? Is it eternal? Is it Jesus?

Reason For Faith
Ephesians 2:8-10 (Amplified Bible) For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law's demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.] For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
There are those who believe you can lose your salvation, and those who believe you cannot. All too often, either belief is weighed out through human reasoning, and with that, the conclusions drawn through such reasoning often become the pillar of a person's faith rather than Christ. Faith, being "the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things unseen," is also something that cannot be derived through human reasoning. It is something you either place in Christ-or you do not. It is not our reasoning that saves us anymore than it is our works. Eternal life comes by taking God at His Word, and believing that the work Christ has accomplished through His life and death was sufficient. Abundant life comes through submitting to Jesus as Lord, being obedient to Him, living for Him, laying down our lives, taking up our crosses daily and following Him. I can reason all day long, but at the end of the day I must ask myself: "Will I place my trust in my own reasoning-or will I place my trust in God?"

Your Future
Proverbs 4:18 (The Message) The ways of right-living people glow with light;
the longer they live, the brighter they shine.
How do you see your future? Well, if you've got God on your side there's only one way to answer that question. Your future is bright! You've got something to look forward to. There's no reason today for you to be depressed or defeated. When you are on God's path, it just gets better and better. Does that mean you won't have problems? Certainly not. There will be plenty of opportunities to choose to believe the devil's lies or to focus on the promises of God. But when adversity comes your way and you choose to take the high road, you've taken a step in the right direction. Through Jesus you are a world-overcomer and more than conqueror, so your future is not growing dim, but getting brighter and brighter!

Blessed
Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
There is much to praise God for this day. Every blessing that is in heaven, He has made available to us through Christ our Lord. In other words, God has made every provision for us to prosper because we belong to Christ. We have been redeemed. We have been empowered to prosper in every area of our lives, and redeemed from the curse. God's plan today is the same as it was four thousand years ago when He made a covenant with Abraham. God blessed Abraham to prosper. Abraham was blessed to be a blessing, so that people would see the goodness of God and turn to Him. Today, that same blessing is ours in Jesus Christ. We are blessed through Christ to be a blessing to others so they would experience the goodness of God and turn to Him. Give praise and thanks to God that He has blessed you to be a blessing, then go out and bless somebody!

Use What You Have
Romans 12:6 (Amplified Bible) Having gifts (faculties, talents, qualities) that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them: [He whose gift is] prophecy, [let him prophesy] according to the proportion of his faith;
You are created by God to be one-of-a-kind. Everyone has their own unique combinations of gifts, talents, abilities and personalities. God does not create junk or trash. He does not make mistakes. He has made you for a purpose and has created within you the gifts, talents and abilities to fill a purpose and be successful in life. Begin by using what you have. Many people are not doing what they were created to do because of circumstances, fears, perceived obstacles or excuses. Jesus Christ has empowered you to overcome those things. He has saved you and put you on a path that gets brighter and brighter. Instead of waiting for something big to happen to begin using your gifts and talents, start today by using what you have in whatever capacity you can use them. As you are faithful to do so, God will cause the increase. Doors of opportunity will begin to open. Faith is what is standing in the gap until the evidence is seen. Once you have the faith to believe, begin to act on it as Abraham did. Even if it seems small and insignificant, remember that no one is insignificant in the Kingdom of God. We are all kings and priests. Every part of the body is just as important as the other, no matter how big or small. In your own body you have two hands, but you can do things with one hand that you can't do with the other and vice-versa. Don't compare what you have and do with someone else. Be yourself and be the original that God created you to be!

Faith or Unbelief
Matthew 13:58 (Amplified Bible) And He did not do many works of power there, because of their unbelief (their lack of faith in the divine mission of Jesus).
Faith is the element that moves the hand of God in the performance of the miraculous. Unbelief can hinder God in the performance of miracles. Jesus was unable to perform many miracles in His hometown of Nazareth because of their unbelief.
What power does Jesus have.
1. Jesus has power over all diseases - Luke 4:38-41
2. Jesus has power over Death - John 11
3. Jesus Has Power over Nature - John 2
4. Jesus has power over the tempest - Matthew 8:23-27
5. Jesus has power over demons - Luke 4:35, 36, 41
6. Jesus has power over all things - Hebrews 2:8
So what does that mean for you.
John 14:12-1 'Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
So when you have problems in your life, the need is not what moves the hand of God, Faith is what puts the answer to the problem into action. When you speak in faith its like pressing the gas pedal to make your car move. You can set in the car all day long and say this car can move, but it want until you press the gas pedal. You can talk about your problem all day long, but until you speak to it (speak the answer not the problem) in faith there is no positive action that will take place.
You hear from three voices. God a positive voice--satan a negative voice--Self voice of reason, it will always question Gods voice! Who are you listening to today!

The Word is Sure
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
The bible is the very word of God. 2 Peter 1:21 says that men who were inspired and heard the voice of God wrote it down. God's words aren't for nothing. They are for a purpose. The bible says that they are life. They are health to your whole body. They are able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart of man. They are a light for the path we are to take, and a lamp to guide our feet. They reveal the will of God. By them, Jesus resisted the devil in the wilderness and won the victory. They will outlast heaven and earth. God's words stand forever. Stand on the word during your trials and hardships. Confess the word over your life. The word is truth. You can find comfort, hope and peace in the written word of God. Believe the word and hold fast to the promises. They are real and they are for today. When all else is failing, and everything else is on the decline, trust in the word of God. It will not fail or return void. It will accomplish what is says. You have God's word on it!

Life Isn't Fair
Romans 8:28 (KJV) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Perhaps you have heard that life isn't fair. Perhaps you heard that at a time when that was the last thing you wanted to hear. In all reality, life isn't fair-it is more than fair. Life, first and foremost, is not some random series of events-bad, good and otherwise. To think that life is like some haphazard game of chance is to leave God out of the equation. You've heard that God has a plan for your life. It's true. God has a purpose and plan for your life and He always has your best interest at heart-regardless of how well you understand what it is He is doing in your life. Why is life more than fair? Because God is active in it. He blesses you in all things. He blesses you in ways you are pleased with. And He blesses you in ways that don't make you happy-but they do make you whole. When life doesn't seem fair, it may be hard to remember that there is so much more going on than you see. For you have a loving Father who will always be using all things-bad or good-to bring about what is truly good in the lives of His children.

Never Too Late
Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
It is not, nor will it ever be too late, to put away selfish want so as to draw near to God and embrace His desires as our own. It is not too late to give up anything that takes our eyes off of our Lord. For only in our death to self will we truly ever find life. And that life is in us and with us daily. We come to a gracious God because Christ has opened the door for us to boldly approach the throne of grace. And as we approach Him, we find forgiveness, love and true peace.

Look To Heaven
Luke 9:16 (NKJV) Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.
Where you put your focus will determine your results. Jesus fed the five thousand not by looking at what could be accomplished only by the worlds standards, but he looked toward heaven and drew upon what could be accomplished by the standard of heaven. God is a god of increase and He can make a way where there seems to be no way. He can make the impossible, possible. He can take a hopeless situation and bring hope to it. If you are facing an impossible situation, look to God first and give thanks to Him, that He can do the impossible and take what you have and multiply it when it seems to be not be enough. If you look to yourself and your abilities, then you'll only experience and get what you can do. But, when you look to God and thank Him for what He can do, then you can experience abundantly more than what seems possible. Look to heaven!

Where Do You Turn
Psalm 34:8 (KJV) O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
When trouble comes where do you turn? Where do you seek peace, hope, strength and encouragement? Those who continuously take their refuge in the Lord will see the blessing come upon their life. When you seek the Lord in everything, you have an advantage over those who don't. They rely upon their knowledge and reasoning, and whatever else they can think up in their on minds. On the other hand, those that seek the Lord have access to wisdom and understanding that is not of this world. It comes directly from the One who created it all! If your life was a car, would you rather have someone work on it that has just studied about cars, or would you rather it be worked on and fixed by the one who created it? God knows you inside out, and He knows all about your life. He certainly has the answers to fix anything you come up against. Some people run to alcohol or drugs to help them cope with life. Be the one who gets the blessing - taste and see that the Lord is good!

Trouble
James 1:2-3 (KJV) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
We often think of trouble as uncommon or unusual. But as we study God's Word, we see in Matthew 14 the lessons Jesus taught the disciples in a storm. And James said, "Count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience" Peter said, "Think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you" God does not promise us that our trials will be easy or will always make sense to us. But He does promise us His comfort and His abiding presence to overcome life's storms.

Revelation Knowledge
1 Timothy 6:20 (Amplified Bible) O Timothy, guard and keep the deposit entrusted [to you]! Turn away from the irreverent babble and godless chatter, with the vain and empty and worldly phrases, and the subtleties and the contradictions in what is falsely called knowledge and spiritual illumination.
God says in His word that His people are destroyed (perish) for lack of knowledge. The knowledge that God is speaking of is the knowledge of His Word - the Truth. This has to do with what God has said or spoken about a situation or circumstance. It is a spiritual truth or revelation that defies common sense or intellect. It is revelation knowledge. It's the kind of knowledge that says take two fish and five loaves and divide amongst over five thousand people and pick up twelve baskets of left-overs. There is also another kind of knowledge that is based on intellect, common sense and what can be seen, heard, tasted, smelled and touched. It's the kind of knowledge that says two fish and five loaves will only feed three to four people at best and then we'll all have to go to McDonald's afterwards. God says to oppose knowledge that goes against what He says in His word. It doesn't mean that you are to be careless or to not apply common sense to your daily lives, but it does say that regardless of what the facts may be, God's Word is the final authority and it is truth.

Who Are You?
Romans 9:20-21 (NKJV) But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?" Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?
The calling of God is on each of us, right? He indeed has a purpose for each individual; and He has a purpose for us as a group. Many of us would like to better understand that purpose, and how we are meant to fit into the church. Yet, in the quest to understand our purpose and place, and in determination to function as God intended, we sometimes question God. "Who am I?" we ask. Sure, we mean no disrespect to Him. We are not implying that the Potter has made a mistake in how He has fashioned the vessel. And yet, we may see ourselves of no importance, and as someone with so little to offer. "Who am I that You would use me?" we continue, "I am nobody." But who we are is of no consequence. What matters is that we recognize who God is, and that we trust that He is able to accomplish through us anything He desires. The question is not, "Who am I?" but, "Who are You?" The answer is: He is the one Who has fashioned you for His purposes, and you are simply to surrender your all, even your understanding of things, completely and fully to Him.

Waiting
Lamentations 3:25, NKJV: The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
Abraham and Sarah understood what it meant to wait for the Lord. He had revealed His plans to them to give them a son, and to make Abraham the father of many nations. Abraham and Sarah did what so many of us would do, or have done--they took matters into their own hands. They attempted to work out for themselves the purposes of God in their lives, in their own way, and by their own timetable. But, "the Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you--" (2 Peter 3:9). Responding to our circumstances using human reasoning or worldly wisdom is something that often brings more headaches than solutions. God's plan for us is something He is bringing about in His time, and His way. Our primary responsibility is to seek Him, follow where He leads, trust Him when things don't make sense to us, and wait for Him as we journey forward.

The Choice is Ours
Joshua 24:15, (NKJV): And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
A day will come when each of us will face the one true Judge. On that day, there will be no appeal to a higher court. Truth will not be relevant or subjective, but based on what is. Nothing will remain hidden that was hidden. All will be laid bare before the Judge, the Lord. And when the final arguments are heard, and those that have chosen to seek to live for themselves and deny Christ are faced with their consequences, there will be a great cry. Some will be broken with sorrow. Some will be speechless. And some will have the audacity to blame God. Augustine said, "A man may lose the good things of this life against his will; but if he loses the eternal blessings, he does so with his own consent." There are so many people who seem to believe their misfortune is the fault of someone or something else--perhaps a parent, or society, or some other life circumstance. But concerning our choice to seek self or seek God, there is no one else to blame. We choose Jesus, or we don't. The choice is up to each of us.

Faith Is
Hebrews 11:1,( NKJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
If we walk by sight, faith has no substance. It has no weight or merit, but is a vague idea only. Yet, if we walk by faith, we will discover what faith truly is. But it is not because it is faith alone, but because of in Whom we put faith. Even within our churches today, faith is something so very few truly understand. It is more an unattainable, incomprehensible ideal. This is evident in the way we live our lives. As we work our way through life, how we respond to life is more like the way the world responds, than how people of faith in the Scriptures responded. Yet we hold the Scriptures up as our example. Faith is not some fanciful feeling, as some have made it out to be. Faith is an assurance that God is. Faith is letting go of what we reason according to the world, and realizing what truly is real within God. Faith is clinging to God's reality while letting go of our own. Faith is substance, and when it is placed in God, nothing is impossible.

What is God Like
John 14:9 (Amplified Bible) Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father?
There are many opinions on what God is like. People often think of God as some far away being that is unapproachable. Others may think of God as mean and that He inflicts people with things to teach them a lesson. Others simply don't have an opinion and plan on waiting until they get to heaven to see what God is really like. Well if we read the stories of Jesus in the Bible we find out exactly what God is like. Essentially Jesus said if you want to know what God is like, come follow me around for a while and I'll show you. Jesus built relationships with people. He fed them, He ministered to them. He served them and gave His life for the sins of the world. And although he hated religion and self-righteousness, He cared for them and forgave them saying "Father, they know not what they do". He healed their sickness and diseases; He opened the eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf. He cast out demons and evil spirits from those who were tormented. If we look at Jesus and see the reflection of the Father, we see that He always left people better off than when He found them. That's what God is like.

Laughter
Proverbs 17:22 (The Message) A cheerful disposition is good for your health;
gloom and doom leave you bone-tired.
If there's one thing in these stressful times that can give you some relief, it is laughter. We would all do ourselves good by finding something every day to laugh about. Yes, times are serious, but we don't have to take ourselves so serious that we lose our joy. Every good thing comes from the Father above and joy is a good thing. Laughter is from God. It is like medicine to the heart. The joy of the Lord is your strength. So instead of having a broken spirit and dried up bones, resulting from a negative outlook and a poor attitude, do yourself some good today and find something to laugh about!

So instead of having a broken spirit and dried up bones, resulting from a negative outlook and a poor attitude, do yourself some good today and find something to laugh about!

Complaining and Arguing
Philippians 2:14-15 (KJV) Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
You are a citizen of heaven, an ambassador and representative of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God. If people who don't know God ever get a picture or demonstration of what life in the kingdom of God is like, it will be through you. The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace & joy in the Holy Spirit. If those around you are arguing and complaining, you can combat that with the kingdom of heaven by speaking what is right, and things that produce peace and joy. If you're not accustomed to acting or reacting this way, it will take some discipline. You'll have to stay alert and be aware of the devil's schemes so that you are not caught off guard. His job is to steal, kill and destroy and he wants to keep you from being a light in a dark place. So always be ready to usher in what makes for peace, joy and righteousness! The next time you stand there wishing God would come in and change a situation, keep in mind that He is already at work trying to get that done. And He's choosing to do it through you! That's why you're on the scene. So don't fall into the trap of grumbling and complaining - do and say what makes for peace, joy and righteousness. It's up to you!

Day By Day
Psalm 32:8 (NKJV) I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.
We all have a purpose and we all have a destiny that God has planned for each of us. The water that flows from the beginnings of a river is sometimes hundreds of miles from the ocean. It has a course that it follows to get there. Though it takes days or weeks to get there, it eventually finds the ocean. Don't be discouraged if you don't have the full picture or understanding what God has for your life. He is teaching you as you go. He is preparing you for the great things that are ahead of you. Listen to His daily instruction and be faithful to do all that He asks. Little by little, step by step, God is taking you to what He has planned. Each day, you are seeing the way. Though it may not seem like it, you are getting closer to the place that God has called you to be. In the mean time, "water the ground" and be a source of encouragement and life to those around you as you go.

Throwing a Fit
James 4:1-3 (NKJV) Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
It is the picture of a childish tantrum-children of God fighting over matters within the church. Do I think the carpet should be red, the hymnbooks blue, or the emergency fund larger? Why? Is it God?s glory that I seek? Is the service too slow, the song selection too modern, or the preaching too dry? Who am I to judge? Perhaps I should concern myself with weightier, more personal questions. Am I willing to put aside my preferences regarding church decor in favor of encouraging peace, love and unity? Am I able to take responsibility for worshipping God during the service, regardless of the songs or sermon? The church does not exist to serve me, but I exist to serve within the church. The church does not exist to honor me, but to honor God. As long as the church does not dishonor God, who am I to argue that my wishes be heeded? So much of what is argued about is petty and pointless. And so often because we simply lose sight of Who is Lord, and Whose church it is.

Worry
Matthew 6:25-34 (KJV)
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Worry is faith in the negative. It is a belief in defeat. It has been said, Worry is wasting today's time to clutter up tomorrow's opportunities with yesterday's troubles. Worry is like a rocking chair-it gives you something to do , but it doesn't get you anywhere. Worry is the interest you pay on troubles that seldom come. I encourage you to practice rejoicing rather then worrying. Know that the Lord is in control of your life, and if you will look to Him, He will bring you out of any circumstance. he will see you through and bring you victoriously to the other side. And instead of living in turmoil, you will be able to live in peace.

Inner Peace
John 16:33 (NKJV) These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
I often think of the peace God gives as a peace that is with us in the midst of our circumstances-a peace we experience regardless of external trials. But it is also a peace that goes much deeper. The turmoil we face is often internal, having little to do with external things. As we struggle with finding direction, making a personal decision, or coming to grips with personal attitudes and downfalls, His peace is available. And His peace is consistent regardless of the outer, or inner, storms we must endure.

Attitude
Philippians 4:13 (Amplified Bible) I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].
Attitudes are not determined by circumstances; attitudes are determined by choice. In any situation, we can choose to have either a good or a bad attitude. You never hear people with a negative attitude say," I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Or " No weapon formed against me shall prosper". Instead, they constantly say, "I never get ahead "or "Things never work out for me." Their negative attitude controls how they look at life.If only these people would start to meditate on these two verses, their situations could be turned around. Instead of allowing difficulties to defeat them, they would see that they can be victorious through the Word of God.

Don't Forget
Proverbs 4:20-21 (The Message) Dear friend, listen well to my words; tune your ears to my voice. Keep my message in plain view at all times. Concentrate! Learn it by heart! Those who discover these words live, really live; body and soul, they're bursting with health.
Do you think you'll ever forget what 2+2 equals? No! Because you studied it over and over again until you knew the answer without even counting on your fingers. The Bible says you should study to show yourself approved unto God. When we study God's word and get it in us, then we remember it just as easily as we remember that 2+2 equals 4.But when we don't study God's Word, something happens...We Forget. James 1:24 tells us not to be forgetful hearers of God's Word. So, how do we overcome this problem we have of forgetting God's Word. Proverbs 4:20-21 Gives us three keys for remembering. Pay attention to it...Listen closely to it...and keep it deep within your heart!

YOUR VALUE
Luke 12:6-7 (NKJV) Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
In this world we tend to put value on ourselves, and maybe others, based on monetary worth. Your company may think that you are worth $40,000 per year. Your bank or some other institution considers your worth based on what you own, what your assets are and how much money you make. Sometimes friends may consider your worth to them based on how trustworthy your are or how good of a friend you have been to them. A person who creates and sells things puts worth on an object based on how much time and material it took to make the item. There are many ways to consider worth. But, let's look a little higher and consider from a creator viewpoint what our true worth is. God sees you as His most prized possession. He made the whole universe and everything in it, yet He desires to have a relationship with you. The Bible says in Psalm 115:16 that the highest heavens belong to God, but the earth He has given to man. God made the whole earth for you to enjoy. If you ever start to wonder if your life is worth anything, think about these things and remember that God gave everything He had in His son, Jesus, to save and have a relationship with you!

Roots
Romans 5:12 (KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
We too have bad roots. Not to put it all on Adam, but it is true that our roots are tainted with sin and the effects thereof. God, of course, saw this condition and knew what to do to bring life back to us. "For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned. . .much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ" (Rom.5:17). God replaced the roots. Or should I say, He engrafted the branches onto a new root system--one that was full of life. Jesus said, "I am the vine and you are the branches, if a man remains in me and I in him he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing" (Jn.15:5). Jesus was God's answer to our bad roots. But strange as it is, we continue to try to do so much on our own--out of self will and self determination. Referring back to the vine and the branches, we would think it odd if the branches on a plant suddenly jumped off, deciding they would go it alone for a while. Yet that is exactly what we do when we choose our way over God's. We stop abiding in the Vine (Christ), and somehow think we have the strength within ourselves to do all things--or at least some things.

Thorns
Psalms 6:2, KJV; Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
Ever feel like the same old sin keeps bringing you down? Ever wonder if you will ever overcome and have a final victory? Consider Paul who prayed to God that God would remove the "thorn" from his flesh. But God chose not to. Instead, God allowed the thorn to remain while teaching Paul how to live a life glorifying to God in spite of the thorn. It is not God's will that we continue in sin, but rather than just remove the "thorn" from us; it may be His will that we find that eventual, lasting victory in spite of it.

Blood
1 John 1:7 (Amplified Bible) But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].
There Is Power In The Blood Of Jesus.
What can wash away my sin?Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again?Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Oh! precious is the flowThat makes me white as snow;No other fount I know,Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
For my pardon, this I see,Nothing but the blood of Jesus; For my cleansing this my plea,Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Nothing can for sin atone,Nothing but the blood of Jesus;Naught of good that I have done,Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
This is all my hope and peace,Nothing but the blood of Jesus; This is all my righteousness,Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Now by this I'll overcome-Nothing but the blood of Jesus; Now by this I'll reach my home-Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Glory! Glory! This I sing-Nothing but the blood of Jesus,All my praise for this I bring-Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

The Lord is Good
Psalm 145:8-9 (KJV) The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
God is good. When the whole world was against Him and trapped in sin, He sent Jesus as a sacrifice for us so we could be made right with Him. Why? Because He made us and He loves each one of us. God is not out to get you, but He is out to love you. When a craftsman creates something, he gets satisfaction in knowing that what he created is excellent, serving a purpose and filling a need. He has no joy in creating junk. Likewise, you are God's creation; His masterpiece. When you are in right standing with Him and you are blessed, prosperous, happy, healed and protected, God gets glory from that. He knows when Jesus is living on the inside of you, you have all the strength, provision, protection, wisdom and understanding you need to be successful in life. But what happens when you mess up? Well, He is right there to be gracious, compassionate and forgiving to help you get back on track again. He is not there just waiting for you to get out of line so He can smack you a good one. The same thing is true for the person at work that no one can get along with; the driver that cuts people off on the highway; the person that says hateful things trying to ruin your day. Why doesn't God smack them instantly? Because He is slow to anger and rich in love, full of compassion, waiting for them to turn to Him and experience His goodness.

Do It God's Way
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
This much-quoted verse doesn't mean you can do whatever you want, or even do what somebody else does. No, Paul is saying you can do anything God assigns you to do, for with the assignment comes the ability. This verse actually teaches you to stay within the boundaries of what God's called you to do and not try to undertake things that are not part of His will for you. That's not negativism; it's godly wisdom!
God wants you looking to Him for answers, not others. That doesn't mean you can't learn from others, it just means the plan that will lead you to success - must come from God alone! He has a unique plan for you.

Promises
Joshua 21:43-45 (KJV) And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
Anyone can make a promise. People make promises to each other every day. But sadly, people break their promises to each other and fail to live up to their word every day too. You've heard people make statements, even written songs and poetry about who can you trust anymore? Well, you can always trust God. The bible says God is not a man that He should lie. He always lives up to His word and His promises. If we do our part by abiding in Him and meditating His Word, He says we'll make our way prosperous and have good success. If we listen to His voice and do the things He tells us every day, we have no need or reason to fear. He is with us every day wherever we go, and He always keeps His word!

Character
1 Corinthians 15:33 (Amplified Bible) Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character
There is a lot to be said about hanging around the right kind of people. If you hang around positive and enthusiastic people, you'll find yourself developing a more positive outlook on life. On the other hand, if you're always surrounding yourself with naysayers and people who are negative with a "can't-do" mentality, they will eventually drag you down too. The bottom line is, the wisdom of God says if you hang around the wrong people long enough, you're destined to be like them. You can never change someone apart from the works of the Holy Spirit. Unless He is working through you to minister to a certain group of people, you'll be better off keeping your distance from those who would like to persuade you to go their way. Guard your heart and be watchful of who you surround yourself with. It's a good thing to minister to those and be a light to the ones who are always dragging other people down, but to have them be in your "inner circle" and among those who you seek counsel from is not a good thing. A little yeast works its way through the whole lump of dough. In other words, the person who is always belittling everyone and everything, and trying to tear everything down in order to build themselves up will eventually infect the whole group.

The Devil Has A Plan For Your Life
John 10:10 (Amplified Bible) The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
In your walk with the Lord, you will experience times when the devil pushes buttons in your emotions to keep you all bound up and depressed. But whenever his attacks occur, just tell the devil to shut up, tell him to hit the road, let him know that you are not going to bite that bait any longer, so he might as well go fishing some where else.Jesus will give you the power to resist every attack and to overcome every strategy the devil ever tries to use against you!

A Little Encouragement
Judges 20:22 (KJV) And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day.
Encouragement is one of the strongest forces in the world. Just a little encouragement from someone can mean the difference between success and failure. A kind word you give someone could mean the difference between life and death. It may cause someone to keep going when they are ready to quit. Words are a powerful force. Harsh words can scar a person for life, but positive words - words of life and encouragement could change someone's whole outlook on life. Never underestimate the smallest amount of encouragement you can give to someone. Perhaps you are the one needing encouragement today. If you need encouragement, find someone to encourage. As you give, you will receive. Find someone to encourage today and affect their life in a positive way.

Avenge Evil
Proverbs 20:22 (The Message) Don't ever say, "I'll get you for that!" Wait for God; he'll settle the score.
It is a natural reaction to want to avenge yourself or get revenge when someone has done you wrong, and humanly speaking you would be justified in doing so. However, when we take it upon ourselves to repay evil, evil abounds even more. The Lord has a much better approach than we do, for His conviction and correction can bring about repentance, when our actions only inflict more hurt and pain. If you're dealing with an offense or hurt caused by someone else, make the choice to forgive and let God deal with it. He promises to pay double for your trouble, but he can't deal with what you won't give Him. Don't take matters into your own hands, choose the greater victory by letting the Lord be your defense.

Integrity
Job 2:9-10 (Amplified Bible) Then his wife said to him, Do you still hold fast your blameless uprightness? Renounce God and die! But he said to her, You speak as one of the impious and foolish women would speak. What? Shall we accept [only] good at the hand of God and shall we not accept [also] misfortune and what is of a bad nature? In [spite of] all this, Job did not sin with his lips.
Job's wife had an opinion about integrity at the beginning of his suffering. But Job could not curse God. If Job cursed God it would go against everything he believed about God and himself. Sometimes life can feel like we are in the middle of a contest between God and Satan.
We wonder how much more we can take.We wonder where we will find the strength. We wonder where God is and why He is allowing such pain. Integrity does not mean accepting life's difficulties with a rosy outlook or a Pollyanna attitude. It allows for the depression and the questioning and the anger which sometimes go hand in hand with suffering. But it also allows for holding on to God.
Prayer: Lord in the very midst of our struggles we cling to you, and in doing so we cling to our integrity -- that wholeness which is so often threatened by the pressures of life. Thank you for your Spirit who gives us the strength to hold on.

Think
Proverbs 4:23 (Amplified Bible) Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
Be Careful how you think;Your life is shaped by your thoughts.Behind everything you do-there's a thought! So if you want to change your life, you have to change your thinking. The world has us so programmed that we are going around on autopilot and until we reprogram it to Gods manual we are bound for destruction. Thank God there is a better way.Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Change always starts in your mind. The way you think determines the way you fell, and the way you fell determines the way you act. So how can I change the way I think? By reprogramming your mind with God's word.

Get Inspired
Timothy 3:16-17,( NKJV) All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be complete.thoroughly equipped for every good work.
I have heard well intentioned people express to me, through a tone of regret, that they just cannot get themselves to sit and read the Bible, or that it's too difficult for them to understand. But I have never heard a Christian tell me that he or she spends enough time reading and studying the Word of God. So the question is: How do we get inspired to spend time in God's Word? I'm not sure I know the best answer to that. Perhaps it is one of those things that once you begin to feel the effect of it, you simply crave it more. Maybe that is oversimplifying it a bit. But one thing I know: there is an indescribable joy when God brings back to mind, scripture you have committed to heart. There is an excitement stirred when you hear someone quoting a scripture that has touched or changed your life. There are wonderful treasures that wait for us within the Words that the God of the universe desires to speak to us. And once we commit to open His Word like a treasure chest-it is then that His treasure will be revealed.

The End?
1 Peter 4:7-11 (The Message)
Everything in the world is about to be wrapped up, so take nothing for granted. Stay wide-awake in prayer. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless-cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God's words; if help, let it be God's hearty help. That way, God's bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he'll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything-encores to the end of time. Oh, yes!
There is a day coming that will shake the very foundations of our way of life. But there is a God who will not be moved. And if we are truly hanging on to Him, looking Him steadfastly in His eyes, while all else crumbles around us-we will not be moved either. But we will remain standing with the hope and assurance we have in Christ our Lord. And we will survive the crumbling world around us by knowing that God is with us-even if we have nothing else.

Teachable
Matthew 5:1-2 (KJV) And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
"His disciples came to Him, and he began to teach them." The Teacher is always ready to teach us. And we as students have much to learn. For us, it is sometimes only a matter of putting ourselves in the right place in order to be taught. We must come to Him-ready in heart, mind, and attitude. For us, this should be a daily thing. It is always easier to hear the words of the Teacher, when you are in the same room with Him.

Life Abundant
John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
We may have forgotten that Jesus came to give us freedom and life abundant. We were not created to be a slave to life but to have life, and life more abundantly. There is so much of what we claim we have to do for one reason or another that seems to be sapping the life right out of us, making us tired and often less of the "light of the world" than we could be if we weren't exhausted all of the time. God designed us as such that we flourish when we are balanced in our living. We will be at our best -for everyone?s sake- when we are applying wisdom to our living.

Snap Out of It
Psalm 144:3 (NKJV) LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him?
Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him?
What are we that God cares for us? We are so small an insignificant in comparison to Him, yet He values us so greatly. But do we take notice of Him? Our lives are filled to the brim with activity, the most of which is centered on selfish desire. God pays attention to us, yet we pay little attention to Him. Many of us enter into each day without thought of Him, without talking to Him, or without inviting Him to go with us into our day. So many of us talk of eternity only to invest ourselves in the pursuits of this life. Though we may not be mindful of God, He is mindful of us. "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be" (Mt. 24:37-39). Sometimes we walk through this life in a trance, and need to snap out of it. Sometimes we need to a gentle nudge-sometimes we need a good kick to wake us up and get our eyes on what's important.

Don't Waste your talent
Matthew 25:15 (NKJV) And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability;
How do you rate your potential? Are you of the mind that something will always go wrong, or nothing good ever happens to you? Do you have a negative outlook on life that causes you to not even put forth any effort? Have you ever asked God what He thinks about you? Maybe it's time to acquaint or reacquaint yourself with what the word of God says concerning you. Things like "In Jesus Christ you are an over comer", "You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you"; "God supplies all your needs"; "God always causes you to triumph"; or "He that began a good work in you will complete it".
God has gifted you with certain talents and abilities to make a difference in this world. But, He didn't stop there. He also provided all the strength, wisdom, knowledge, faith, perseverance, joy, peace, hope, love, patience, life, boldness and courage to get it done in Jesus Christ.
Maybe God has give you a vision to do something that seems impossible or too big. What may seem impossible with men is possible with God. He is not asking you to do anything that He hasn't already provided everything you need to get it done. Be confident in this: God is for you, not against you and the purpose and calling He put on your life is no mistake or accident. Don't waste your talent - put it to use and glorify God.

Just Shake It Off
Acts 28:3, 5 (KJV) And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
You're going about your day doing your work. Your serving your fellow man. You're doing the right thing and there is no cause for evil to come near you. Suddenly, out of nowhere the devil shows his ugly face. Maybe it's in the form of a harsh word from someone. Could be that it's an outright attack on your character or job performance, maybe even your ministry. When the devil comes around trying to put something on you and it seems he's going for blood, don't panic. Don't pour gas on the fire. Remember you are a child of God whom Jesus said would trample over all the works of the enemy. Overcome evil with good and do like Paul did - just shake it off and suffer no evil effects!

Rethinking
Isaiah 55:9 (KJV) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
We will learn a great many things throughout our lives. Some of what we learn will enable us to seek God more fully; while other things will hinder us in our efforts to find His way in our lives. There comes a time where each of us is faced with a decision to make. It is a decision wherein we surrender fully to God though it may mean forsaking all we have been taught, and all we have ever thought we knew. His ways are higher than ours, and we will never attain a full knowledge of Him. But as we come to Him anew, as a child, we will learn anew--and therein build a walk that grows closer to Him each day.

Following Good Examples
1 Corinthians 11:1 (NIV) Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
For a man to say that he believes in something is acceptable to most. But if that man is true to his beliefs, then he may be viewed a fanatic. And should that man's convictions be demonstrated in his life in such a way that others are convicted-then that man is a threat. But not to us, right? For we have put on Christ and put aside the old ways of sin. Therefore, we are open to scrutinize our own deeds, actions and lifestyles-correct? When we see a Christian among Christians, who seeks Jesus with all his heart, are we not inspired to learn from that Christian? Or do we cringe when we see him coming? As we watch some Christians, we might be so inclined to engage ourselves in self-examination. Yet there is a sinful side of us that shrinks back. Our flesh desires to dismiss conviction. Throughout our lives, God will provide examples for us to follow. What a loss it would be if we do not see the examples because we prefer to believe we've nothing there to learn.

Goodness and Faith
Galatians 5:22 (NKJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Dose the Holy Spirit have enough freedom to produce "goodness" and "faithfulness" in your life today? Are you selfish and self-seeking, consuming every spare dollar on yourself and never showing concern for the needs of those around you? Do others know you as someone who is unstable, undependable, and unreliable? If the answer is yes to either of these questions, doesn't this indicate that you aren't allowing the Holy Spirit to do His work in you? If He truly had the freedom to operate in your life, the fruits of "goodness" and "faithfulness" would be evident in you. When a believer is walking in the Spirit, his eyes are opened to see the needs of humanity, and his heart is moved to meet those needs.

Excuses, Excuses
Luke 14:17-18 (NKJV) and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, 'Come, for all things are now ready.' But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused
Sometimes it seems the biggest thing holding us back is us. We often know the road to take, the correct way to act or react, or the proper attitude to have, but find ourselves all too often retreating behind a wall of excuses. "I can't," do this or that because..."I don't have the time, or the money, or the energy." Or perhaps, "It's not my gift, or my calling." Or maybe it's because, "They should ask someone better than me because I'm just not good enough." We blaze a trail of excuses that takes us far and away from opportunities to serve, to give, to love, and to live life to the fullest in Christ. In Jesus, we have callings, dreams, desires, and aspirations. We see in ourselves the potential to become something more in Him. We know that all things are possible with Christ, and that He can help us overcome all obstacles. The question then to ask is, :What's holding us back?"

All You Need
2 Corinthians 9:8 ( KJV)
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.
So many of us are waiting for something to happen before we begin the work God has for us. We say, "I am not ready." We wait for all the circumstances to line up in such a way in which we will feel comfortable that we have what we need. All the while, we have had what we needed in Christ. When the Spirit of the Lord moves us to act, we must act. We have to stop listening to the voices of excuse. I may feel I don't have the faith, the time, the money, or the strength to do something at a particular time. But, we do not wait upon a right time, we wait on God--He will take care of accomplishing His will in His time, according to His purposes and plans. It is in our poverty that riches will be uncovered. When we see ourselves without resource, yet say, "Yes, Lord;" we will discover that God is our resource for all things, and at anytime.

Repentance
Proverbs 28:13 (Amplified Bible)
He who covers his transgressions will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes his sins will obtain mercy.
What is repentance? It is much more than a quick "forgive me" prayer. It involves three things: being truly sorrowful for the sin, actively turning away from that sin, and bringing forth fruit in keeping with repentance. Being really sorry for the sin is to be absolutely devastated by the thought of it. Turning away from the sin. There is no real repentance without it. Prove your repentance by a change of action! Matthew 3:8 says. Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance [let your lives prove your change of heart]; Yes, God's Word tells us that true repentance is being truly sorrowful for the sin, actively turning away from that sin, and bringing "forth fruit in keeping with repentance." Not just the big brazen sins, but all sins! Oh, how far from this we have fallen in our modern-day understanding and handling of sin.

Conscience
2 Corinthians 1:12 (NKJV) For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.
The conscience God designed works from the inside out, while man works from the outside in. conscience is inborn sense of right and wrong. So how can people change? To many times, we try to change people by working on the outside. We send drug addicts to rehab programs; we send criminals to prison. But any program that works only on the outside of a man is doomed to fail. Only a program that seeks to change a man through faith in Christ will have a everlasting effect. Has the Holy Spirit pricked your conscience about something? Too many Christians are like the church member who once prayed, Oh, God if there is any ungodly thing in my life, show me. Then when the Holy Spirit touched His finger to an area of the man's life, he reared back and hollered, "I rebuke you, Devil !" When a man won't listen to his conscience, it's usually because he doesn't want to accept advice from a stranger.

Giving
2 Corinthians 8:12 (KJV) For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
Money, talents, time, gifts; we have each been given our own lot. What we do with what we have may very well define us to an extent. Eleanor Powell said, "What we are is God's gift to us. What we become is our gift to God." But to become that gift can be quite a struggle. We lose sight of the potential within us when it becomes eclipsed by personal inadequacies; or to the other extent, pride. It seems that what we are, have, have been given, and could become is seldom enough to please us. This often causes us to pursue wants and aspirations that do not fit who God has made us to be. But God did not give us this life, who we are, or what we can do in order to please us. Yet when we take what He has given, work with it, and deliver it back to Him as a love offering, it is then we find true pleasure. It is then we understand the old saying, "It is better to give than to receive."

Noah
Genesis 6:8 (Amplified Bible)
But Noah found grace (favor) in the eyes of the Lord.
Why did God save Noah? The Bible tells us, "Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God"( Gen.6:9 ). The Hebrew word for perfect involves the idea of completeness, so we know Noah's life was complete, with no aspect missing. Noah was not sinless, for no man is, but he accepted and applied God's standard to his life and actions. When all around him people were immersing themselves in evil and earning the wrath of God, Noah chose to follow God's standards. As a result, " Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord".What standards are you applying to your life?

Are you Jesus
2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV)
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Do people mistake you for Jesus?
That's our Destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace.
If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would.
Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day. Too many Christians are no longer fishers of men but keepers of the aquarium.

REBELLION
1 Samuel 15:23 (NKJV) For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
The Spirit of rebellion is alive and well today. If there is one lesson we can learn from lucifer's fall, it is this: Rebellion and satan are like the sea and the shore-you can't have one without the other. satan's pride led him to rebel against God, and every sin that man commits springs from rebellion against God or a God ordained authority. We know that everything God dose' He does through righteous authority, and he has established a righteous chain of command, in the home it is the Father, in the church it is the pastor and in government there can be many authorities. Just as satan manipulated Eva he is alive today trying to use his lies of manipulation on us. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
