The Harvest Of The Word

Mark 4:14-20 (NKJV) The sower sows the word. And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

There is a difference in hearing the word preached, being excited or encouraged by it and hearing the word preached, being excited or encouraged by it and seeing results of it in your life. There are many who hear the word and it does absolutely nothing for them. There are others who hear the word and are excited by it but it does not produce results because they are not seeking the kingdom first. Therefore, the seeking of other things choke out the effects of the word in their life. So how do you get the word to produce results in your life? 1) Seek first the kingdom of God 2) when you hear the word preached, receive it by faith 3) put your faith into action by doing what the word you hear says to do. Jesus said it's the one who hears the word and acts on it that overcomes the world. The book of James says that those who "hear" only are deceiving themselves (that the word will produce results simply by hearing). Although faith comes by hearing, James goes on to say that unless you put that faith into action, it will produce nothing. God's word is truth and if you'll receive it by faith and put your faith into action by doing what it says, it will produce results. If the results are only small at first, don't give up. Be diligent to keep doing good. Continue acting on the word in faith. You'll continue graduating to the next level and the harvest will come.

Have A Blessed
Day
