He Must Increase

John 3:30 (KJV) He must increase, but I must decrease.

John the Baptist had a special work wherein he would be the one who came to prepare the way for the one yet to come. Simply put, John’s ministry pointed to Jesus. He did not consider his ministry something whereby he would get attention or glory for himself—it was all about Jesus. As John the Baptist’s disciples questioned John regarding the work that Christ was doing and the attention it was drawing; John simply reminded them for what purpose he had come. Just as John did, it is ours to do today and everyday: to point the way to Christ, and to see that our lives increase the glory to Jesus above anything we would ever gain for ourselves.

Have A Blessed Day
