Victory!

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. - Corinthians 15:57

We have been given the gift of victory through the Lord Jesus Christ! Victory is the means of success. It is not the means for success, meaning that it is something that is off in the future or something that has to be attained. It is the means of success, meaning that it is already accomplished and it already belongs to you! Jesus has already given you the victory in every area of your life. How? By washing away your sins and putting you in right standing with God. By disarming demons, principalities and powers of darkness. By defeating the devil and rendering him powerless. By fulfilling the Law of commandments against us and annulling them, making them void and legally nonexistent. By conquering death so that we would never again be separated from God. He accomplished all this and more by his death on the cross, and now through his resurrection we have the victory that He won for us!

"Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil - it has no point."

The Gift

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit - Acts 2:38

During this season of celebrating the birth of Christ, people share in the giving of gifts. It is because God gave us the greatest gift of all. He gave his son Jesus for the sins of the whole world so we could be rightly restored to our positions as sons and daughters of God. This is what God predestined us for - to be His children. Not just mere servants, but sons and daughters. Heirs with Jesus, sharers of the inheritance - the Kingdom of Heaven. Through God's giving,(and our receiving it) we also received a gift - the Holy Spirit. Redeemed as sons, we are no longer slaves or held in bondage to the Law. We are no longer held captive, burdened by a heavy yoke of rules, regulations, ordinances or commands. We now have a new command - to walk in Love. The Holy Spirit is now the "law written on our hearts". He is our guide and our teacher. To put it in simple terms, we can throw out the maps and atlases, the Holy Spirit is our built-in GPS! God gave us the greatest gift of all - His own Spirit living inside us!

When satan has a plan to take you out God has a plan to keep you in.

Imitators of God

Be imitators of God - Ephesians 5:1

To imitate something or someone is to copy their speech, actions and mannerisms. There is a contest held every year in Memphis, TN where people come from far and wide who have spent countless hours perfecting their impersonations or "imitations" of Elvis Presley. I remember seeing a video of country singer Merle Haggard imitating fellow country singer Marty Robbins to the point that Marty himself was astonished at Merle's ability to copy every nuance of Marty's vocal tone and style. If you closed your eyes you thought you were listening to Marty Robbins. That's the way the devil should react when he sees you coming and hears you talk. He should think that it is God Himself speaking. We are to imitate God's speech, faith and actions. People don't see God physically on this earth except through His children. We are God's hands, feet, mouth and voice on this earth. Ephesians chapter 4 tells us how to conduct ourselves: be honest, encouraging, kind, compassionate and forgiving, speaking the truth in love and putting on the "new self" created to be like God - truly righteous and holy. Jesus already made it possible, now it's simply our choice.

Sacrifice of Praise

Hebrews 13:15 let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

It may not be easy to praise God that He is your provider when your bank account is empty. It may be hard to find the motivation to praise Him and say "The Joy of the Lord is my strength" when you're feeling discouraged or depressed. However, did you know that praise is a weapon? It has a sacrificing effect. It slaughters, kills or slays whatever is in opposition to it. So when things don't seem to be going your way, instead of giving place to aggravation, frustration, discouragement, anger or sorrow, begin to praise God for who He is and all He says He has done and will do for you. Giving thanks to His name in faith by releasing praise to Him will sacrifice and slaughter every negative emotion and thought that is trying to capture your attention. The praise and thanks you give Him will cause His joy to rise up in you, and you'll walk away in victory!

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Forget The Past

...but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, - Philippians 3:13

The past, in many cases, is like a prison. It keeps you from moving forward by locking you up in the would-have, should-have, could-have mentality. The minute you asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, you instantly became a new creation and your past was wiped clean. Even though that is a biblical fact, another fact is that your mind needs to be renewed. The devil always dwells in the past. He was there when you messed up; when someone abused you; when something bad happened to you; when you make a bad choice. Now that you are trying to live your life for Jesus, he comes to remind you of the past. It's time to forget the past and move on towards your future. Forgetting is done in the realm of the soul - your mind, will and emotions. Forgetting doesn't always mean that you won't remember, but it is more of a matter of focus. If you're always looking at what is behind you, you will miss out on what God has in front of you. God has good plans for you to give you a future and a hope. Renew your mind daily to this promise and let it become your focus. The past is over and can not be changed, but the good news is that God has great plans and a bright future in store for you

Submit To God

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7

Submitting to God is to submit (assign yourself to a right position) to His rule, power and authority in your life. When trouble comes, when testing and temptation comes, submit to the things that produce righteousness, joy and peace. It is also what Jesus said "seeking the kingdom of heaven first." If you submit to cussing and screaming first, then you are submitting to the kingdom of darkness and you begin to lose your joy and your peace. But if you'll stand on the promises and word of God like Jesus did in Luke 4, the devil will flee, or run away from you every time. You are over-coming the tests and temptations by submitting to God, and by resisting the devil you are keeping yourself from falling into his traps. If you don't submit to God, then you will fall prey to the devil and you'll begin to be frustrated and aggravated, depressed, worried, fearful, angry and full of turmoil. How do you submit to God? You begin to speak life into the circumstances. One example would be "I have the mind of Christ! I can hear the voice of God and His wisdom is guiding me in this situation. I have the peace of God and His peace is ruling over this situation." If you'll make this a practice in your life every day, it won't mean that trouble won't come. However, instead of being under the gun and behind the eight ball, you'll learn to rise above and live the life of an over-comer that God wants you to be!

The World’s Grip

1 John 2:17 (NKJV) And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

The influence of this world is very powerful. It can hold us in its grip. It can enslave us and keep us captive to its will. It can convince us of its own importance, making itself out to be more real to us than God. Wisdom cries out to us, desiring to guide us to the Truth. The truth is that the things of God are real and lasting, and the things of this world are passing. And yet we are consumed by this world, the cares of this life, the pursuit of personal happiness, and more. Day after day we invest time and energy into making a life in this world. And the longer we continue doing so, the more we become like those in the world around us. We think as they do. We live as they do. We seek the same material things, the same successes, and the same pleasures. Our thinking, that is to be transformed to the likeness of Christ’s, clings instead to the patterns of worldly thought. We believe in faith and miracles as long as they are subject to common sense and practicality. The influence of this world is very powerful. It can hold us in its grip. How much hold does it have on you?

It's Not What We Do

Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” - Luke 18:18

The Good News of the Gospel is that we are saved by faith, not by works. It is by faith in what Jesus did for us, not by what we do or try to do to earn or work for our salvation. What Jesus was saying to the rich young ruler was this: Forget about all your rule-keeping and trying to live up to a set of laws and regulations; go and get rid of everything you've worked for or earned on your own (your good works, your ways of doing things, your methods, your ideas) and come trust in the work that I will do for you! The Apostle Paul reiterates this very thing in Galatians 2:21 - if being right with God comes through what we do, then Jesus Christ died for nothing. However, too many times Christians are caught in the vicious cycle of trying to "do something" to get blessed or find favor with God. However, the message is so simple: Have faith in Jesus and just simply receive what He did for you! Any action that we put forth should just be a response to our faith in what Jesus has already done, not because we are trying to get Him to do something. Many people say that God is their provider, yet their faith is actually in their tithe or their sowing and reaping. Many people say that Jesus is their savior, yet their faith is actually in what they do or don't do to be "right" with God. You can spend your lifetime trying to discover, manipulate and practice spiritual laws, or you can simply just receive what Jesus did for you and be led by the Holy Spirit and do what He says to do. Jesus died to release us from the Law, so we could receive the promise of the Spirit and live the Spirit led life. You are free in Him!

Walk By Faith

For we walk by faith, not by sight - 2 Corinthians 5:7

This verse, pertaining to eternal life and our robe of righteousness that awaits us in heaven, is the foundational principle in which we live as followers of Christ. Though in the natural we don't see the after life, all we see is a body that dies and a grave, we know by faith (believing) that the promise of God is true and that it doesn't all end in a cemetery. Thus, we live by faith, not by sight. In the same way, we are to live day to day standing on the promises of God. However, most people live day to day standing on the evidence of things seen. That is, they never saw Aunt Bessie healed or Uncle Bob prosperous, therefore those promises must not be for everyone. Or we speak to the mountain and call things that are not as though they already were and nothing immediately happens, so we chalk it up to "we tried that once and it didn't work" and therefore choose to live by "sight" instead of by faith. Faith is the ability to see it complete while it is still undone. Settle it in your spirit, by the spirit make up your mind, and let your actions be in accordance to what you believe. Everyone is looking for something that "works". Don't go around trying to copy everything everyone else is doing. That is living by sight. The one thing that has always worked and never failed is the Word of God. Be sensitive to what He is telling you to do, then walk by faith and go do it. Stand firm and don't be moved by what you see. It's what we trust in but don't yet see that keeps us going.

When Pride Falleth

Ephesians 4:18, NIV: They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.

It has been said that in order to be a good teacher, one must first be a good student. A Christian cannot lead unless willing first to be led. We must humble ourselves before Christ, as His disciple (or student). We must also be willing to humble ourselves before other Christians; and sometimes other people we do not believe we should have to listen to. Contrary to our belief we don't know every thing. It is so very often pride that prevents us from learning. Like a young teen, we are sometimes with Jesus--assuring Him that we know the answer, or that we need no help for a particular task. Pride is perhaps the greatest obstruction to learning. But when it is replaced with a humble attitude, then the disciple is open to receive so much from God, and in ways and places completely unexpected. It is truly amazing how useful the eyes of the soul can be, once pride is removed from the pupil.

It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Christian Integrity

John 17:6, NIV: "I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word."

If a person's integrity can be measured by how well he/she keeps his/her word; then a Christian person's integrity can be measured by how well he/she keeps God’s Word. What does it mean to be a man of my word? It means that I keep my word. It means that the words I speak are dependable and trustworthy. Whatever I say I will do, I am diligent to do. My yes means yes, and my no means no. While being determined to be a man of my word is a good thing; being determined to be a man of God’s Word is far better. It means I keep His Word--I hold to His Word; living according to His standards; hiding His Word in my heart, and considering His Word something to be treasured. In keeping God’s Word, we hold to a standard higher than our own--an integrity higher than our own integrity. In keeping to His Word, we affirm that we belong to Him even as Christ said, “the ones you gave me from this world.” We affirm that His Word is in us. And we affirm that we are, and have always been, His.

Double Minded

he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." James 1:8

If one part of a person is set on God and the other is set on this world, there will be conflict within. In fact Matthew 6:24 says. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. There will come a time when they make opposing demands, and when that happens who are you going to go with? Satan uses many ways to distract and prevent us from making right decisions, and he does this within our mind, the battlefield. The mind is where satan plays out every battle in our lives. WE must have Gods wisdom to over ride satan’s lies, remember For God is not the author of confusion but of peace. Confusion comes of the devil, because there is no truth in him. He is a liar and a thief, and he will always try and confuse, confound, and mislead us. We can overcome confusion through the Word, and through the Blood of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As we start a new month lets take extra precautions on our decision making of our every day life decisions, that we base it on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and His promises. Not satan’s lies.

Flee Problem

But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. - 1 Timothy 6:11

Fleas are often associated with animals. They are pesky little critters that gnaw away at animals causing them to bite and scratch themselves because of the irritating itches and bites they receive from those fleas. But if there's one thing that every Christian should have, it's a flee problem! We should flee from pride, disputing, arguing, envy, strife, insulting, evil, lusts, immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, witchcraft, jealousy and all types of drunkenness and carousing! Those are the real things in life that gnaw away at your peace, joy and happiness. Those things are of the devil and the sure way to get rid of them and him is to submit yourself to the Lord, then the devil will flee from you! Yes, every Christian should have a flee problem - fleeing from the works of the devil, and making the devil flee from you!

God Is A Good God!

If anyone attacks you, don't for a moment suppose that I sent them, and if any should attack, nothing will come of it. - Isaiah 54:15

Have you ever had something bad happen to you, but then it worked out for the better in the end? We all have. God has promised that He will always work things to the good when bad things happen. He will restore double for what the enemy has stolen. If anyone attacks or comes against you, nothing will come of it. So, if God is the one who is working things to the good, the one doing the restoring and causing nothing to come of an attack against you, then who is causing all this to happen in the first place? Once again, we go back to John 10:10 - Jesus said it's the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy. In other words, it's the devil. It is the goodness of God that causes people to turn their lives around and follow Him. There is no such thing as a "blessing in disguise." Do we really believe that God is so conniving, sneaky and full of trickery that He would disguise a blessing that He has already spelled out for us in black and white in His word? NO! He did promise though, that when the enemy comes against us, He will always provide a way of escape; He will always turn it around and make something good of it; He will always give us double for our trouble, or just simply erase it. If there is a lesson to be learned from it, it is this: God is a good god! He's good all the time, and He doesn't have to break your leg, run you over in the street or steal your truck to prove it!

What Do You Pursue

1 Peter 2:9-12 The Message But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. Friends, this world is not your home, so don't make yourselves cozy in it. Don't indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they'll be won over to God's side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives.

Do you pursue The American Dream or The Kingdom of God?
What is the American Dream? Does it extend its roots as far back as the Declaration of Independence wherein we read about “certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness?” Is the concept of the American dream something that has transformed over time? And finally—is it a dream we as Christians embrace? Peter would remind us that our residence is not of this world but that we are citizens of another kingdom. As such, our first allegiance is to the Kingdom of God, and our first desire is to be for His Kingdom to advance. Dear Christian brother and sister, look around. How many do you see in pursuit of the American Dream? How many do you see in pursuit of the Kingdom’s Reality? And finally—what do you pursue?

Stand Firm

2 Thessalonians 2:15 Amplified Bible So then, brethren, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions and instructions which you were taught by us, whether by our word of mouth or by letter.

There are no gray areas with God, it is cut-and-dry, on or off, black or white. A person is either for Him or against Him. Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. Actions speak louder than words, and words, when they are spoken will reveal the issues of the heart. When you stand for what God stands for, you can never go wrong. Seek first the Kingdom of God and all the necessities of life will be added unto you. God has proven over and over in His word that when a nation turns to Him and does what is right, He causes the blessings to flow upon the people. This same principle works in all aspects of life, be it the workplace, school, government or the church committee. Stand up for what is right in the sight of God, and He will always cause you to triumph!

The Power Of The Light

Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead [let your lives be so in contrast as to] expose and reprove and convict them. For it is a shame even to speak of or mention the things that [such people] practice in secret. But when anything is exposed and reproved by the light, it is made visible and clear; and where everything is visible and clear there is light. - Ephesians 5:11-13

It is not condemning words, but godly actions and lifestyles that expose the "fruitless deeds of darkness". It is the light of Christ in what we do that causes people to see that there is a better way. People are not going to come to Christ by hearing bitter words of hate about how wrong and sinful they are. Jesus said to go and preach the good news, and the end will come when that good news is preached with demonstration. It is seeing and understanding the goodness of God that brings people to repentance. It is the light of Christ shining through you that exposes, reproves and makes things visible and clear. Self-righteous attitudes and condemning speech only bring offense and division. You have the light of Christ. Let it shine through you

Daily Bread

Give us each day our daily bread - Luke 11:3

Your spirit needs feeding daily just like your body does. 1 Peter 2:2 says to desire the pure milk of the Word so that you may grow. You will only grow spiritually if you spend time reading God's word. A person can't live a healthy productive life by only eating one meal a month, or just at Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. If your physical body only received food 3 times a year, you would die. Likewise, if your spirit is only fed a few times a year, you will never grow in spiritual things. If you're having a hard time understanding the will of God, hearing His voice, knowing what His plan for your life is or staying full of joy and peace, the best place to start is by spending time reading and studying God's word and strengthening your relationship with Him. One sermon a week is no more beneficial than one meal a week. It may keep you alive, but true nourishment that results in growth comes from eating every day. If your life seems to be nothing more than a series of ups and downs, highs and lows and emotional roller coasters, break out of that prison by keeping yourself charged up with daily bread from the Word of God.

A Satisfied Life

I want you to know, brethren, that many times I have planned and intended to come to you, though thus far I have been hindered and prevented… - Romans 1:13. 1 Corinthians 13:12 tells us that now we see things dimly, as in a mirror, but someday we will see clearly and understand how God answered our prayers.

Have you ever prayed and thought that it was unanswered? Have you ever desired something and it seemed that God is always saying no? Have you read things in the bible where Jesus said to ask anything and it will be done for you, so you did and it didn't come to pass? Well it may not be that God is withholding something from you as much as it may be that God is withholding you from something. He may be holding you back from danger, disappointment, loss, or the schemes of the devil. It could be just a matter of the timing is not right. Or it could be that you are basing your peace, happiness, joy and contentment on something or someone other than Jesus. For instance, if you are putting all your hope and basing your happiness on getting a big new TV, that is a false sense of hope and joy. When the new wears off, you'll be right back where you are now. Your life will be like a roller coaster, up one day and down the next, looking for the next something or someone to make you happy. However, when you put all your hope and trust in Jesus, and make Him the source of your peace, joy and happiness, you can live a life that is full of peace and joy no matter what you have or don't have. When you delight yourself in the Lord, making Him your peace, joy, security and hope, you can live a satisfied life content in all things

It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

The Sword Of The Spirit

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword - Hebrews 4:12

The word of God, the bible, is the sword of the spirit. (Ephesians 6:17)

It is a double edged sword. One edge is used to cut the devil and his cohorts. It is used for spiritual warfare. Jesus gave us this example in Luke 4. With every lie and temptation the devil brings you, there is a truth in the word of God to speak back to him and cut him to pieces with. Speaking the word of God out loud is not just some from of mind control or positive thinking, it is actually a spiritual weapon that is powerful for bringing down strongholds and resisting the devil. The other edge of that sword is for you. It cuts down past the bone and marrow judging the thoughts and intentions of the heart. It reveals things that need to be changed and it is there for correction and instruction in righteousness. Don't neglect to study, learn to handle and use the word of God. It is one of your weapons to help you be triumphant in life!

Feed On The Word

Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. - Matthew 4:4

If you're going to live a complete and fulfilled life, it's going to take more than natural food. Sure, your body needs natural food to live, but a ham sandwich won't help you through the trials of life any more than a bale of hay will help you be a good horseman. You're going to need wisdom. You're going to need knowledge and understanding. And when you get that wisdom, knowledge and understanding you'll have to put it into action in order to see any results. Whatever you're needing today, find a scripture in the Bible that applies to your situation and stand on that word of God. Thank God for it every day, that He has provided the wisdom, knowledge and understanding you need to be an over-comer in the things that concern you. The word of God is life and it is just as alive today as it was the first time it was spoken and written down. It is true, it is for you and it is for today. Just as you feed your physical body, feed your spirit with the word of God everyday!

Reconciliation

If you enter your place of worship and, about to make an offering, you suddenly remember a grudge a friend has against you, abandon your offering, leave immediately, go to this friend and make things right. - Matthew 5:23-24

Some of the keys to reconciliation, or "coming together", is to value people more than things; value people more than your need to be right; value people more than your own personal pride or reputation. Learn to live in peace with others by discerning their needs and building bridges. Many people are at odds with one another simply because of their own personal need to be right when it comes to a difference of opinion. Not everyone is always going to see eye-to-eye on everything. There is nothing wrong with "agreeing to disagree." It really comes down to choosing to love someone and being kind despite a difference of opinion. Does this mean you have to compromise? No. This means that you put love first. Love endures all things, sees the best in all things, hopes all things.

It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Faith - A Positive Response

And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us exceeding great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. - 2 Peter 1:4

God has given us exceeding great and precious promises, that in Jesus Christ are Yes and Amen! (2 Cor. 1:20) Notice that God is not making promises, as in suggesting that He is going to do something some day; but, He has given promises and they are already done in and through Jesus Christ. In other words, you already have it. In human terms, when someone makes a promise, it is understood that someone is making a pledge towards something that they are going to do some day. When they finally come through on their word, then we say that they have fulfilled their promise to us. This is not necessarily the same thought process we can use with God. He made the promises at one time, but has since fulfilled every promise in and through Jesus Christ and they are given to us through Him! They are provided through grace by faith. Our faith is a positive response to what God has already done and provided through Jesus Christ. If you've struggled through life and have lived one day to the next only by what you feel or see, just following the human desire to call it like you see it; make the choice to determine to live by faith instead. How do you do that? By making the choice to live each moment as a positive response to what God has already done and provided you through Jesus Christ. Instead of saying something like "I'm so broke I can't even pay attention", choose instead to say "God has already provided for all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and I am abundantly supplied!" Instead of thinking and saying "That's just the way my luck runs - nothing good ever happens to me", begin to say and believe "I am blessed with every spiritual blessing through Jesus Christ; He surrounds me with His favor and He always causes me to triumph!" God has already done His part. It is up to you to do your part by releasing your faith as a positive response to what God has already done for you.

Grace Is Sufficient

To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. - 2 Corinthians 12:7-9

There may be an issue or a situation in your life that you are seeking relief or deliverance from. The good news is, God has already provided everything you will ever need pertaining to life and godliness through Jesus Christ. Things don't always come to pass in an instant. But, God may be telling you today as he told Paul - My grace is sufficient for you to overcome. You may be weak, but in Jesus Christ, by the grace of God, he causes you to overcome. He gives you the strength to be more than a conqueror. God always causes you to triumph, but He will not override your soul (mind, will & emotions). He desires that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers. If your mind, will and emotions are not renewed to the will of God and His promises, you will be hard pressed to overcome. But when your mind is renewed to His promises, and your will is conformed to His will, His grace is more than enough for you to overcome! He promises that as you rely on His grace, His power will be present in you.

It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Do Not Worry

Matthew 6:34, NIV: Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

It is often said that worry is sin, so as Christians we do not like to admit when we worry. We may instead call it "concern." Is it a concern that seems to occupy most of my thinking? Is it concern when it is something I can't seem to get out of my head? Maybe it is something that makes it hard for me to concentrate on other things in my life, or maybe something that keeps me up at night. Is that concern? Call it what you want--worry, concern--it doesn't really matter. The fact is, the very things we seek to control soon find a way of controlling us. Christ knew how easily we can get caught up in the cares of this life. And He knew how easily the cares of this life could steal our joy. His words for us are now as they have always been: "do not worry."

Focus on Love

...And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. - Matthew 24:12

The Bible says that where evil abounds, grace abounds even more. As evil becomes more widespread and increases, grace increases even more. Love is the force behind grace. We are saved by grace because God so loved the world. The very character of God is love. Jesus said that by love, all men will know that you are my disciples. It doesn't matter how many Jesus bumper stickers, t-shirts, caps, fish or crosses you have, if love isn't evident it is all in vain. In the days ahead, love will be the force that will turn people's hearts towards God. Lawlessness is increasing, therefore we can expect arrogance, hatred, bitterness, selfishness, complacency, bad attitudes, haughtiness and all sorts of evil intent to become more commonplace. However, in the midst of all that darkness, the light of love can overcome. Don't become so focused on the increasing of lawlessness that you are consumed by it's deceit. Don't allow your love to grow cold. Take the high road. Overcome evil with good. Fight the good fight of faith against the hate in this world, with the power of the love of God.

It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Every Wind of Doctrine

Ephesians 4:14-15, KJV: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.

We may reason, that we live in an age of reason; and for that reason, it seems that any reason is good reason, and therefore, reason enough. Confusing? “I am astonished,” Paul writes, “that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel--which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ” (Gal. 1:6-7). There is a good reason we place Scripture as our Authority for doctrine. As doctrines are built upon the foundations of individual reason, we find desertion of the absolute truth of God, we propagate and persist confusion, and we pervert the Gospel by filtering it through individual perception. There is a dire need for the people of God to come back to His truth; to throw much reason to the wind, and let doctrine be built solely upon the firm and unchanging foundation of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Pray For Your Leaders

..Pray much for others; plead for God's mercy upon them; give thanks for all He is going to do for them. Pray in this way for kings and all others who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord. - 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Whether or not you agree with the leadership of your country, now is a critical time in which we live. There are many decisions to be made, and that are being made, that will affect generations to come. There is crisis throughout the world. The bible is full of examples of those who found favor with kings and leaders even when they were corrupt and doing evil. People such as Moses, Joseph, Esther, David, Daniel, Peter and Paul. Our duty as Christians in this day is to pray for all who are in authority. Although we may not agree with, or even like them, we need to pray that God will change their hearts and cause them to make the right decisions. God promises that if we'll do this we will have the favor of living a quiet and peaceable life. They may not be living in peace, but in the midst of their chaos and calamity, in our obedience to the word of God, we can be living in peace while everyone else is in distress.

Jeremiah 32:27
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

Press On

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. - Philippians 3:14

To "press on" literally means to "pursue, follow after, even though you suffer persecution". It implies that you must continue intensely in spite of opposition. It's a word that we all need to remind ourselves with each day. Press in and press on. Continue in faith, don't give up. The devil wants to see you fail. He wants you to believe his lies when he says you can't make it, you'll never succeed. However, you can continue in confidence because God has already called you an over-comer, more than a conqueror. You are a champion. Dig your heels in and spit in the devils face. The race is yours to win.

Strengthen Your Brothers

But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers. Luke 22:32

Jesus is praying for Simon Peter. Peter is about to go through a time of testing and great discouragement. His instructions are, that once he is restored and encouraged, to go and do the same for his brothers. We all need each other. There are times when each of us will go through trying times. Times when we feel that we are at the end of our rope. Times when we don't know how we'll have the strength to go on. These are the times when we need prayers from others. We need their encouraging words. Just as Aaron and Hur held up Moses' hands in the battle and defeated the Amalekites, God has placed around you those who will war in the spirit to get you through the battle. Once you have made it through the valley of the shadow, it's important to know that there are those whose lives you have been placed in to strengthen and encourage them through their battles. If one can put a thousand to flight, then two can put ten thousand to flight. There is strength in numbers. Peter went on to preach and see thousands give their lives to Jesus Christ. You can be the one person that can impact someone else's life that causes them to go on and do great things. Strengthen your brothers.

It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Your Lips

The lips of the wise will preserve them. - Proverbs 14:3

You possess what you confess. If all you ever talk about is your problems, fears, hopelessness, frustrations and discontent, you will only experience more of the same. Without taking your thoughts captive, they will turn into words. The more you think and speak negative things, the worse your life will be. However, if you put the creative power of God into action, that is the words of your mouth, and use your words to speak life, health and success, you can begin to change your life for the good. Everything you say will either build up or tear down, and according to the Word of God and modern scientific medical information, those negative thoughts and words will destroy you from the inside out. The good news is that you can produce the opposite effect by thinking and speaking good things - words of life. God is the original positive thinker, and God created by speaking what He thought. Just like God, your words are constantly creating. Use wisdom in choosing your words. Use your words to preserve and prosper your life, not destroy it.

Matthew 18:19
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Understanding The Will

Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is. - Ephesians 5:17

Knowing the will of God pertaining to life and godliness will keep you rooted and grounded, unwavering in the midst of the storm and in the face of circumstance. Adversity will come. Persecutions will come. The devil will shoot his flaming arrows and fiery darts in regards to health, wealth, protection, provision and security, etc. Our job is to hold up the shield of faith. The problem is many Christians either don't know what they believe, or believe contrary to the word and promises of God. Many try to believe for a while, but seeing the circumstances and the trials and casualties of those around them, they begin to walk by sight rather than by faith and are soon found shipwrecked in regards to their faith and unable to stand. Being more convinced by what they see around them, rather than what God has written to them. Jesus compared this type of person to a seed on rocky ground with no root. They receive the word gladly, but when the fiery darts come, they immediately fall away. The only way to develop a deep root is to be a Joshua - meditate on the word day and night, then you will have a firm grasp on what the will of the Lord is. Don't let the negative circumstance around you cause you to put your faith in what you see.

Patience and Perseverance

Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me; - Daniel 10:12-13

When Daniel prayed, God heard and answered immediately. However, it took the messenger of the Lord, the angel, 21 days to deliver the answer to Daniel. How many times has God's people made a mess of things because they didn't have the patience or the perseverance to wait on God? We can see how Abraham made a mess of things by trying to make God's promise to him come to pass by doing it on his own. Hebrews chapter 11 says there is a great reward for those who are diligent and stand in faith believing. In these modern times with our microwave, give-it-to-me-now, drive-thru fast food, high speed internet, remote control lifestyles, the difference in being the victor or the victim may very well come down to our willingness and ability to be patient and persevere when it seems like nothing is happening. The devil uses time against us to try and get us to shrink back and give up. Don't let him trick you into giving up. Be the overcomer who prays and perseveres and stands patiently on the promises of God and gets the results!

Smile More

I will forget my complaint, I will change my expression, and smile - Job 9:27

If you've developed a habit of grumbling and complaining, it will be up to you to change it. You can change it because the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives inside of you. He is there to lead you in the way of righteousness, joy and peace. You may not feel like changing your expression, and you may not feel like smiling but if you'll do it by faith and make a choice to do it, you can rise above a habit of complaining and develop a new habit of pursuing righteousness, joy and peace. Even scientists have measured that people who smile have an increased release of endorphins that causes improved immunity, increased tolerance for frustration, and higher levels of creativity. So smile more and release the God-created benefits that a happy face can produce!

The Blood of Jesus gets you there. But what you wear there is determined by what you do here.

Let it shine through you.

Integrity

He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known. - Proverbs 10:9
Those who lie and distort the truth will only have to tell more lies to keep their story going. One lie leads to two lies, two lies lead to three lies and so on. It just keeps compounding and eventually the liar has lied themselves into a corner and they are found out. However, the one who keeps their tongue from lying will have peace of mind. They are not like those who have to go through life looking over their shoulder. When you walk in integrity, you can walk securely, safely, care-free, boldly and with confidence. When you renew your mind to the truth and will of God, you will know that not even the slightest distortion of truth is fitting among the righteous. A "little white lie" is still a lie, but the truth always wins. And when you know the truth, the truth will set your free!

Favor Of The Lord

For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield - Psalm 5:12

The favor of the Lord is a powerful force. It gives you the supernatural ability to find and have acceptance with all you come in contact with. The favor of the Lord can open doors for you to minister the love of God in ways that might normally seem impossible. It can get you acceptance with the right people. It can get you mercy from those who would otherwise seek to cause you harm. You may be facing a difficult situation, but the favor of the Lord can turn it all around. Some people may trust in good luck, or good fortune, but you can be sure and confident today that you don't need luck or fortune, because the favor of the Lord surrounds you.

Time To Wake Up

The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
- Romans 13:11
Now is the time to be getting serious. It's time to seek God and find out what His plan is for your life. For those who aren't yet saved and have been riding the fence, it's time to decide which side you're on. It's time to put aside all envy, jealousy, strife and every form and practice of evil. It's time to dig into the Bible, the Word of God, and find out what His promises to you really say. It's time to decide to be led by the Holy Spirit every day of your life. He is the one who can and will guide you to make the right decisions every day. He is the one who gives you the power to be an over comer in life. If you've been putting off taking your relationship with God serious, it's time to wake up, and as one person has said: "smell the coffee while there's still some left". If you are already in this mode, don't be discouraged - stay the course, keep the faith, keep listening to the voice of God and following the wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit. He is your helper. He is here to direct you and counsel you in all things. Most importantly, it is time to submit to God and resist the devil and send him packing!

Peace

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. - John 14:27

When we think of peace in the world, thoughts of things being quiet, still, easy and euphoric may come to mind. Everything outwardly is easy and calm. This is how the world describes peace. When things are this way, life is usually easy and good. But what about the times when things are chaotic and there are wars and rumors of wars? When things outwardly appear frightening and there is talk of shortages, famines and pestilence, there is a way to have an inward peace. This kind of peace that comes from within is what causes you to rise above every negative situation. The peace of mind and inner stillness allows you to have joy in the midst of the storm and remain calm when everyone else is all but fainting from fear. This kind of peace is available to you and it is only found in Jesus Christ. Today when chaos and turmoil comes knocking on your door, look to Jesus to fill you with peace from within and you'll find yourself rising above every negative situation. Peace!

Words That Ruin

Proverbs 16:28, NIV: A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.

All the sugar coating in the world does not change the truth about gossip. Your words may be dipped in honey, and spoken softly, light-heartedly to another. But don’t be fooled. For many there are of us who justify ourselves, slipping our words beneath the cover of so called concern. What is it that stirs in us a need to gossip? Is it envy, anger, jealousy, or strife? Is it an insatiable curiosity that peaks and all the more when we peak the curiosity of someone else? Whatever the reasons, all are rooted in sin. It is truly amazing how powerful words can be--and how easy it is for some to act as though their words are no big deal. Gossip is spread, the damage is done, and when caught by our words we say, “Oh, you’re blowing it out of proportion.” Do we blame the victim as though he somehow deserved it? Do we try to act as though we did nothing wrong? Jesus does not take a soft position on such things. He tells us, “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment,” and, “with what judgment you judge, you will be judged.” It is trouble enough as we look on others with the sinful judgments of our hearts, but how much more terrible for us to allow the cancerous thoughts to be spread from our lips to the ears of others.

Draw Your Attention To

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Your attention is something that can be given, lost, or stolen. It can be requested, as in, "Can I have your attention;" drawn, "Let me draw your attention to...;" or demanded, "Let me have your complete attention." Our attention is something all too easily distracted…are you still with me here? And for most of us, the span of our attention is something that could certainly be improved upon. With that, I would like to draw your attention to what needs your attention: Jesus, your Bible, your quiet times, your church, etc. Regularly giving your attention to the things of God does far more than fulfill some religious duty. As you put your attention on Him within your day, your attention is drawn to the things of God all throughout the day. It puts you in a frame of mind that is more Christ centered, and focused on abiding in Him. As you give Him your attention, your eyes become readied to see God at work around you. Your heart is more receptive to His guidance, and you become more attentive to the needs and concerns of others. Today, many things will demand your attention, but there is no better place to set your attention than on the fruitful and glorious things of God.

I Will Show You

Genesis 12:1, NIV: The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.”

How many more times must the Lord prove Himself worthy of your trust before you will trust Him for all you are worth? We so often say, “If only You will show me a sign,” or “speak to me once more through Your Word.” However, you may have God’s answer, and yet wait for more--wanting to make absolutely sure you understand His will before making a move. But the answers often reside on the other side of obedience. God leads us, but we must take a step before He can lead us to take another. It is not our place to require God to reveal all ahead of us before we choose to follow. I ask God what to do. He answers, “Follow thou me.” I ask, “Where will you lead me.” He answers, “Come and see.” If I hesitate, saying, “But Lord, first let me…” take care of this or that, then I miss my opportunity for obedience to Him in that moment.

It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Waiting For a Magic Wand

1 Corinthians 9:24, Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

“Lord, make me a preacher of Your Word,” Victor prayed to God. “With all my heart I so badly want to show others the way.” Each day, Victor fell on his knees in his mountain home, and prayed the very same prayer. And each day, after his prayer, he would go about his daily work--wondering why the Lord had not responded as he expected. He seldom left his mountain home. He seldom saw anyone. He seldom read the Bible. It may seem a bit odd to think that someone would pray as Victor did; that someone would ask to be a preacher, and not seek out those to whom he would preach. It may seem strange that someone would want to proclaim God’s Word who seldom reads it. Yet so many of us ask things of God and wait for Him as Victor did. Maybe we ask God to help us grow in the knowledge of His Word, yet we fill our time until there is no time to read and study. Perhaps we ask God to help us to overcome a sin, yet do not take action to avoid circumstances that tempt us. And so, we sit and we wish and we wonder why it’s so hard to be what God wants us to be. God has great things in store for us that we will never know so long as we sit by waiting for the easy fix, or the wave of a magic wand.

It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

The Choice is Ours

Joshua 24:15, NKJV: And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

A day will come when each of us will face the one true Judge. On that day, there will be no appeal to a higher court. Truth will not be relevant or subjective, but based on what is. Nothing will remain hidden that was hidden. All will be laid bare before the Judge, the Lord. And when the final arguments are heard, and those that have chosen to seek to live for themselves and deny Christ are faced with their consequences, there will be a great cry. Some will be broken with sorrow. Some will be speechless. And some will have the audacity to blame God. Augustine said, "A man may lose the good things of this life against his will; but if he loses the eternal blessings, he does so with his own consent." There are so many people who seem to believe their misfortune is the fault of someone or something else--perhaps a parent, or society, or some other life circumstance. But concerning our choice to seek self or seek God, there is no one else to blame. We choose Jesus, or we don’t. The choice is up to each of us.

Have A Blessed day. It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Hannah Wept

1 Samuel 1:10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish.

Childless and barren, Hannah wept. In considering her life, she felt unfulfilled and lacking purpose. She wept “in bitterness of soul.” It is a feeling that many Christians can identify with. We look at our lives, which sometimes seem barren and fruitless—and we wonder why—and our heart aches for something more. Even as Hannah’s hope was in the Lord, so ours is also. Within in the most barren times, we can turn to Him and pray, and know that in His time He will open the flood gates and pore out a blessing that we will not have room enough for it." And that also in His time we will most certainly fulfill His purpose in us.

It is my prayer that God will Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Casualties

1 John 5:18 (Amplified Bible)

We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him [Christ's divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him].

In a war or battle, there are casualties. As Christians, we are in a spiritual battle and engage spiritual warfare every day. One of our weapons is the Word of God. If we use it against the devil the way Jesus did in the wilderness, we can have the victory every time, standing on the Word of God. We have God's promise of protection in the heat of the battle when we abide in Him. In the old testament, Israel defeated all their enemies without any loss on their side when they came together in unity, trusted God and worshipped Him only. But when they began to turn to idols, rebellion and sin, they began to suffer loss. Today, give no place to the devil to come in and cause you to suffer loss. Guard your heart and your mouth. Keep God first place in your thoughts, words and actions. There's no reason to be a casualty in this spiritual war. Keep your eyes on Jesus and let NOT that wicked one touch you!

God Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Look To Heaven

Luke 9:16 Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.

Where you put your focus will determine your results. Jesus fed the five thousand not by looking at what could be accomplished only by the worlds standards, but he looked toward heaven and drew upon what could be accomplished by the standard of heaven. God is a God of increase and He can make a way where there seems to be no way. He can make the impossible, possible. He can take a hopeless situation and bring hope to it. If you are facing an impossible situation, look to God first and give thanks to Him, that He can do the impossible and take what you have and multiply it when it seems to not be enough. If you look to yourself and your abilities, then you'll only experience and get what you can do. But, when you look to God and thank Him for what He can do, then you can experience abundantly more than what seems possible. Look to heaven!

Truth

John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The truth is we have been programmed by religion and doctrines of man that most of us do not now what the truth is. We have to change our thanking. Our minds are like a computer-until you put something in, it just sets there. what you put in is stored until you call it up. Before you were saved you were putting all the junk from the world into it. So it would make since that after you were saved you would want to download new and good stuff into it. Here is the problem-People want their life changed, but not there life style. God wants Custody not Visitation.

Self Service

Mark 9:35 (KJV) And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

There seems to be a bit of confusion these days regarding the church. Many seem to believe that the church is there for them. They hold to the idea that the church should have adequate children´s programs, brief and enjoyable worship services filled with great preaching and good music. They choose a church based upon what it will provide to them and their family members—and that is, for them, the reason to attend a particular church. However, the church is not there for them—it is there for God and for His purposes. The church is not a club or an entertainment outlet. It is not product to be packaged to the desires of patrons. It is simply to be and become what God intends. If we seek God the question will not be, "Where can my family´s needs best be met?" but instead, "Where does the Lord wish us to serve?" Anything less is self-service.

What God Is Like

John 14:9 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

There are many opinions on what God is like. People often think of God as some far away being that is unapproachable. Others may think of God as mean and that He inflicts people with things to teach them a lesson. Others simply don't have an opinion and plan on waiting until they get to heaven to see what God is really like. Well if we read the stories of Jesus in the Bible we find out exactly what God is like. Essentially Jesus said if you want to know what God is like, come follow me around for a while and I'll show you. Jesus built relationships with people. He fed them, He ministered to them. He served them and gave His life for the sins of the world. And although he hated religion and self-righteousness, He cared for them and forgave them saying "Father, they know not what they do". He healed their sickness and diseases; He opened the eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf. He cast out demons and evil spirits from those who were tormented. If we look at Jesus and see the reflection of the Father, we see that He always left people better off than when He found them. That's what God is like.

Take Dominion

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” - Genesis 1:26

God created you for dominion. Dominion means to reign and rule. However, God did not create us to try and dominate one another. He created us to dominate the earth and to take control over it. The devil wants to dominate this world with all sorts of evil. His plan is to rob you of your authority to reign and rule in life. Adam lost his authority in the garden of Eden. Jesus came and got it back for us. Through Him we are now more than conquerors and over comers. To let the devil run amuck in your family, household, thoughts and actions is not taking dominion. Be encouraged that God has not created you to be overtaken by the circumstances of life, but through Jesus Christ He has given you back the power to rise up and take authority over every negative and evil attack the devil tries to send your way. Rise up. Let your light shine. Take the dominion and authority you have in Jesus Christ and fight the good fight of faith!

Encouragement

But the men of Israel encouraged one another and again took up their positions - Judges 20:22

Encouragement is one of the strongest forces in the world. Just a little encouragement from someone can mean the difference between success and failure. A kind word you give someone could mean the difference between life and death. It may cause someone to keep going when they are ready to quit. Words are a powerful force. Harsh words can scar a person for life, but positive words - words of life and encouragement could change someone's whole outlook on life. Never underestimate the smallest amount of encouragement you can give to someone. Perhaps you are the one needing encouragement today. If you need encouragement, find someone to encourage. As you give, you will receive. Find someone to encourage today and affect their life in a positive way.

God Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

The Lord Is Good

Psalm 145:8-9 The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy The LORD is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.

God is a good god! When the whole world was against Him and trapped in sin, He sent Jesus as a sacrifice for us so we could be made right with Him. Why? Because He made us and He loves each one of us. God is not out to get you, but He is out to love you. When a craftsman creates something, he gets satisfaction in knowing that what he created is excellent, serving a purpose and filling a need. He has no joy in creating junk. Likewise, you are God's creation; His masterpiece. When you are in right standing with Him and you are blessed, prosperous, happy, healed and protected, God gets glory from that. He knows when Jesus is living on the inside of you, you have all the strength, provision, protection, wisdom and understanding you need to be successful in life. But what happens when you mess up? Well, He is right there to be gracious, compassionate and forgiving to help you get back on track again. He is not there just waiting for you to get out of line so He can smack you a good one. He is waiting for you to turn to Him and experience His goodness.

God Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

A Good Word

Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad. - Proverbs 12:25

There are plenty of opportunities to be anxious or worrisome in this world we live in. Everyone is concerned with rising prices, an economic crunch, natural disasters, or even their safety and freedom, Friends, Family and even Church. But anxious thoughts, if not cast out or put out of your mind, once meditated on long enough begin to occupy the abundance of your heart. When this happens, a lifestyle of fear and worry begins to develop and the results are not good. Many illnesses can be traced back to things such as worry and fear. If you are caught up in that kind of trap, stop today and start focusing on the promises of God. He supplies all your needs. He desires to save you, deliver you, heal you, prosper you, make you whole and complete lacking nothing. He is your source, your provider, your supplier, your rock, your strong tower, your hope, your peace, your strength, your protector, your counselor, your helper, etc... God's words are the only words that can change you. You can find many of the words that are in the Bible in any other publication, but His words are different because they are alive, and they are life to all that find them. Find a good word in the word of God today and make your heart glad!

God Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Blissful Ignorance

John 6:60&66, 60.Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 66.From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Jesus had finished explaining to many of his disciples some of the principles surrounding who He was. But what Jesus said was difficult for them to receive because what He said rubbed harshly against their flesh. What Jesus said did not settle with what they in their own human wisdom could reason out. "Many of his disciples," the scripture tells us, "turned back and no longer followed him." Their response was to say within themselves, "I just can't understand that--I don't even want to think about it." We like to feel secure in our beliefs and understandings about the way things are. When something or someone comes along that shakes those beliefs and causes us to question things of which we have felt secure in our understanding, our tendency is to resist. We become uncomfortable and insecure and find ourselves at the crossroads--wondering what is right and who is wrong. We have a choice: struggle through the questions, trusting God for the answers; or bow to the bliss of ignorance. Have A Blessed Week

He Is Always With You

Psalm 139:7-Where can I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? Romans chapter 8 says nothing can separate us from the love of God. You can't run far enough or fast enough to outrun God and His love for you. The depths of depression and sorrow cannot remove you from His presence or His love. God is always right there, like a friend who sticks closer than a brother. He is always a prayer away and ready to hear from you. He knows your thoughts, dreams and desires. He formed you and made you and created you for a purpose. He knows how to fix all your problems and heal all your hurts. He will never leave you; He is always there. There is no place that life will take you that will separate you from His love, or no place you go that He won't be with you. Have A Blessed Day

In Agreement

Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? - Amos 3:3 Business deals happen when two or more agree. A contract is signed when both parties are satisfied with the agreement. People have lunch together because they agree to do so. A team can't win a game unless they agree on their strategy. Everywhere in life we can see examples of things that happen because of the power of agreement. We can't see an eclipse of the sun without the earth, moon and sun being lined up in agreement. God can tell us over and over in His word about who we are and what we have because of what Jesus did, but if we don't believe or agree with it, we probably won't see it in our lives. Likewise, a negative thought won't product a positive outcome. A bad attitude won't produce a happy day. Words spoken in doubt and unbelief won't produce faith. An negative self image and low self esteem won't cause you to be an over-comer. God wants you to speak positive, be in agreement with His good plan for your life, and make His thoughts about you, your thoughts about you so you can be blessed in life. If you're tired of the same old results, then quit speaking and thinking the same old thoughts. Get in agreement with God's word today and start seeing different results in your life! Remember, calleth those things which be not as though they were. Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

Guard Your Heart

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. - Proverbs 4:23 Guard you heart. Within your inner most being (heart) are the issues (boundaries, sources) of life. Whatever you have in your heart is what you believe. We have seen that in the past few weeks. When the world is talking shortages and rising prices, we have promises from God that He will meet all of our needs. He can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think! The enemy (devil) would have you believe that there are certain things that you are not going to be able to do anymore. Certain necessities that you are not going to be able to afford anymore. Guard your heart. Hold fast to the promises of God. God can make a way where it seems there is no way. He can provide for you where it seems to be impossible. However, things that seem impossible with men are possible with God. Within each one of us there is a fence. A boundary. God is continuously wanting us to go beyond the "fence", to push out that boundary in faith and trust in Him. The enemy wants us to stay behind or within the fence, and with fear tries to get us to move the fence back. He wants to move the fence, or boundary, within you so far back that you are too afraid to step out in faith towards your destiny in Jesus Christ. He wants to tell you that the cost is too high. There are too many shortages. You're going to have to start doing without. He doesn't want you to do your part in expanding the Kingdom of God. You will have to turn off the channel that he is speaking to you on and turn on the promises of God. After all, Jesus said that in the midst of shortages, famines and natural disasters, we would be preaching the gospel of the Kingdom to the ends of the earth. Now is not the time to move back the fence. We need to push it out. Guard you heart. remember the message tonight, don't look back, keep your eyes off of that rear view mirror. Your destiny is in front of you, not behind you. Have A Blessed Day

A New Thing

Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. - Isaiah 43:19 God knows your situation. He knows your concerns and uncertainties. He knows your dreams and desires. Don't be so focused on the concerns, uncertainties, issues and problems. Instead of being focused on the circumstances, be focused on your God! Magnify the Lord above the issue. He already knows the issues, etc., and He wants to take you through to victory. He desires to do a new thing in your life. God can make a way when it seems that there is no way. Cast (throw; set aside; discard or reject;) your cares on the Lord. When you choose to carry around your fears and worries, you tie the hand of the Lord. He can not deal with your worries and fears if you are trying to hold on to them. "Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it?" Don't be so focused on the cares of life that you can't see the open door that the Lord has set in front of you. Stand firm, put your focus on Jesus, resist the devil and his discouragement, and walk into your promised land! Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

The Road Ahead

Genesis 12:4-5 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. The road ahead of us is long as best as we can tell. We do not know where it will take us or where it will end. Our destiny is held in the hands of our Creator, and our path is under His watchful care. He does not hold us too tightly as to force His way and leave us without a choice. But He holds us gently and lovingly; allowing us to remain in His hands to be carried to the place He would take us. Outside of His hand, we wander aimlessly—but in His hand we find our perfect place and discover where He is taking us one day at a time. Have A Blessed Week

If only I had more

Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. There are some of us who have great enthusiasm for God’s work, yet seemingly have few resources; and there are some of us who have many resources, yet seem to run short of energy and enthusiasm. There are some with much talent, but feel a lack of direction. And some having knowledge of what needs done, but cannot, All in all, we are responsible to use that which God has equipped us with. We cannot use what He has not given, nor should we ruminate upon all we might do if we had that which we do not have. So many of us might think, “If only I had more…” money, talent, etc. “Just imagine what I could do then.” But you currently have what you need to do God’s work today. Invest it wisely, and you are bound to see Him do great things, with the little that you have. Have A Blessed day

The Good Things In You

Philemon 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. The building up of your faith comes by reading and hearing the word of God, believing that you have what it says you have, applying it in your life by confessing and doing what the bible says to do, and telling others of the faith you have in what God has revealed to you in His word. Keep your faith alive and growing by putting it into action. Your faith is increased when you begin to realize and accept all the benefits that are yours because Jesus Christ is on the inside of you! When you realize that, then you arrive at the place where sharing your faith with others becomes powerful. It is the power of the "good news" that changes lives! Have A Blessed Day

It's A Blessed Day!

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. - Lamentations 3:22-23 Today is a new day. Some people today will say "it's Monday again" or "back to the grindstone", but with Jesus on your side this is actually one of the greatest days of the week. Not only is this day created with fresh mercies, love, grace, peace, joy and provisions, but God is faithful to make this day just as blessed as any other day of the week. Monday is the day you start your week with a clean slate. It's a fresh start. It's the day you can put into action everything the Lord told you at church yesterday. It's the first day of the work week for many people, and if you honor God with a good attitude and a thankful heart you are setting the tone and laying a good foundation for Tuesday through Friday. It's a matter of perspective. Start yours off right by grabbing some fresh mercy and thank God for His faithfulness to make this a blessed day! Have a Blessed week

Chew It Up

Psalm 1:2 (Amplified Bible) But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. It seems there are a great many questions in our hearts. We come to God’s Word and seek, and hope to find good Biblical principal by which to live our lives. If we don’t, we should. But when we do, what are we looking for? Perhaps we are looking for the answers to particular questions. There is much that God has prepared for those who will seek Him. But there are many simple truths within God’s Word that often become the “don’t blink or you’ll miss it” passages. They are often the treasures overlooked as we hurry to something more tailored to our wants. Moms are famed for instructing children to “chew” their food. God’s Word is something to be savored—something for us to consider—to reflect on. As we meditate on His Word, His answers are revealed. Sometimes we are looking for wisdom, but He is leading us to worship. Sometimes we seek purpose, while He is leading us to simply praise Him. The question we must ask when we come to His Word is foremost, “What does God want to say.” And with that, it would be wise for us to take the advice of moms to heart—and simply chew our food. Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?

Concerning Others

Philippians 2:3-4 (The Message) If you've gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don't push your way to the front; don't sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand. The scripture tells us that Jesus “knew what was in man” (John 2:25). It is that fact and within our own inadequate observations of mankind that we should fathom to the point we are able, the unfathomable grace of God. We are a selfish lot. But by the grace of God we are given a gift in that we, through knowing Him, may become like Him. And in being like Him show evidence of His work in us as we turn our eyes more each day away from our own concerns, and truly embrace in our hearts the concerns of others. Have A Blessed day

Wherever He Leads

Matthew 8:19-20 (NKJV) Then a certain scribe came and said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” What do we seek that hinders us from following Christ? If He calls us, will He not also equip? If He sends us, will He not also provide for our needs? Within the eyes of some disciples, hesitation could be seen. What Jesus asked of them left them bewildered, and dismayed. They were content to follow Him in ways that fit their expectations. One man proclaimed, “I will follow you wherever you go.” But would he follow if he did not know where he would hang his hat? Would he follow when uncertain where his next meal was coming from? Today, Christ calls us each to follow Him wherever. To places unknown and unfamiliar, He calls us. To times of uncertainty, He calls us. And if we choose to forsake all else, that is when we’ll find Him--and so much more than we first thought, or could possibly imagine. May God Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Do you Have a Teachable Spirit

(Psalms 25:4) Show me your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. It is of immeasurable importance for Christians to have a heart that is willing to be taught and receive instruction. “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” (Proverbs 9:9) The benefits of having a heart that is open to instruction are exemplified in the lives of many Bible characters both in the Old and New Testaments. You cannot be a disciple of Jesus Christ without being teachable. The Greek word translated “disciple” means learner. A disciple is someone who is ready to learn. Everyone needs a teachable spirit to learn in order to progress. It takes wisdom to succeed. But, it takes a teachable spirit to gather wisdom. Having a humble attitude will help us go a long way. None of us have all the truth. We are all fallen and finite, and we all see through a glass darkly, as Paul says. While we are to stand very strongly indeed for core biblical doctrines, we can do that while having a humble and teachable spirit. Have A Blessed day

Gossip

Proverbs 26:20 (NKJV) Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.

Ol' Smokey The Bear said: "Only you can prevent forest fires!" Basically, that's what the Wiseman says about gossip. We can turn down the heat, douse the fire, and let the quarrel die. How? By not supplying juicy morsels of gossip, by ditching the urge to spread destructive innuendo, and by refusing to keep alive an ugly rumor. Without gossip, the bitterness of a rivalry can dissolve and relationships can mend.

Have A Blessed day

Feeling Less Than Spiritual

John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

No, you are not the only one who has faced it. You know—a time when you feel, shall we say, less than spiritual. Just as many others, I too can say, “Been there…lived through that.” Sometimes, that’s all you feel you’ve accomplished. Living through it, that is. And barely even that, perhaps. Maybe you wonder how it is possible to get through the tough times and feel more like a victorious Christian, than a beaten believer. The first thing you must do is put your eyes on Jesus. The second thing is to keep them there. In our “less than spiritual” times, it is tempting to believe the voice that tells you, you have failed—and tells you, you will only fail again. But that is not the voice of Jesus; and it is only His voice to which you should be paying close attention. Don’t let your heart be troubled, believe in Jesus. He has wonderful things in store for you. If it were not so…He would have told you.

Have A Blessed day

Life Mission

1 Peter 4:7 (NKJV) But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

If my life’s mission was truly centered upon leading lost souls to Christ, and helping Christians to know Him better, what would my life look like? How would it change my day? What would it require of me, and what would I need to give up? Such questions often lead us down paths that take us out of our comfort zone. With such questions, our very way of life can be threatened. Reasons and excuses flood our minds. We are afraid we may have to give up something we enjoy, or go somewhere God leads that may take us through difficult times. Once we are able to “throw aside everything that hinders,” then we are able to “run with perseverance.” When my life’s mission is staked in making a living, my center and beneficiary is I. A Christ focused life leads us to use what God has given us in effort to benefit others. If our mission were centered upon others, what would that truly look like?
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

The Beginning of Sorrows

Matthew 24:6-7 (NKJV) And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.

Look around. The world seems to be coming apart at the seams. Wars and rumors of wars abound. Unprovoked violence against the innocent is rampant. The world and national political scene is a breeding ground for corruption; a place void of integrity, where winning elections outweighs the will of the people; a place where parties thrive on doing nothing but discovering new ways to destroy the opposition--regardless of the cost to the nation. But "see to it that you are not alarmed," Jesus tells us, "such things must happen." This is only the beginning of sorrows. And even now we may be dazed by the events, and perplexed as to what is to be done. How do we fight against terrorists and power hungry dictators? How do we stop senseless abuse and killings of the innocent? How do we fight against self-promoting political powers, and seemingly untouchable and unsympathetic establishments? We pray. In prayer, we have a weapon more powerful than any forged on this earth. We need simply to deploy it, and trust the God who is over all.

May God Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

Don't Be Discouraged

Numbers 21:4-9 (KJV) And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

They went from the mountain of Hor (promotion). They were on their way to the promised land, and they became very discouraged. You may be in what seems like a similar situation. You realize God has a plan and a purpose for your life. You know you have a destiny and that God has good plans for you to give you a future and a hope. However, you may currently find yourself in a wilderness. If so, be encouraged today to not lose hope and not lose sight that God still has plans for you, plans for good not for evil. The way of getting there is a time of renewing your mind. A time of learning to trust God, to learn to hear His voice and to be confident in His provision. It's a time of being faithful in the little things. The enemy is ready for the fight to keep you out of your "promised land", and he will if you haven't learned to fully trust God, to hear His voice and stand on His promises. It's time to learn to use the Word of God and fight the good fight of faith. We're all growing and God is taking us all from faith to faith and glory to glory. As He does, don't let discouragement rob you of what God wants to teach you along the way.

May God Bless you EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK!

The past is over and can not be changed, but the good news is that God has great plans and a bright future in store for you.

Have A Blessed Day
