The Economy

How is the economy in your house?

Satan, who is the god of this world… 2 Corinthians 4:4 (Amplified Bible) For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers' minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God.

The Bible says the whole world is under the power of the evil one. But God's people are under the power of the Holy Ghost. We are from a different kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven! We are God's agents here in the earth to carry out the will of the Father. He says that when we seek first the kingdom (His rule, authority, influence, will and purpose) He will meet all of our needs. So if you are a believer and you are doing what God has called you to do, in the location that God called you to do it, there is no reason why the economy of the world should have a profound negative affect on you. When Israel was under siege in 2 Kings 7, there was a famine and shortages throughout the city. The economy was in bad shape. But Elisha connected with the Kingdom of Heaven and spoke according to God's riches in glory and declared "tomorrow there's going to be plenty and it's going to be cheap!" In the same way, if the economy of this world is having a negative affect on you and the devil seems to have you closed in on every side, you need to rise up in the authority of King Jesus and your position in the Kingdom of Heaven and command the devil to get his hands out of your affairs! It doesn't matter if the interest rates fall through the basement floor and the price of gas is more than you care to think about. It's time to get rid of stinkin' thinking' and bad confessions! Get your thoughts and your mouth lined up with the Kingdom of Heaven and violently take it by force! An ambassador never lives according to the economy of the country in which he is stationed. He lives according to the economy where he comes from. When you got born again, your citizenship was moved to heaven. Start calling on and confessing the blessings of God! Put the economy of the Kingdom of Heaven into action in your garden of Eden.

In His service

He Will Protect

1 Samuel 2:9 (NKJV) He will guard the feet of His saints,
But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. “For by strength no man shall prevail.

The world is in turmoil. With uprisings in various countries and talks of shortages and inflation, the Bible says that in latter days men will faint from fear of what is coming upon the earth. However, God says that those who truly and intimately know Him will be strong and obtain His benefits! Now is the time to abide in Him. It's time to be truly dedicated and sold out to the Lord. Now is the time to be praying. To be intimately acquainted with Him and to know His voice. To be in step with Him every day. It's time, now more than ever, to know what your covenant with Him is all about. To stand on His promises and receive them as yours. When Israel was in Egypt, a great many plagues and disasters struck Pharaoh and his people. However, God's people went through it untouched when they did what He said to do. God has called you to do great things in this world. He has appointed you and anointed you to be part of His plan. Your strength alone can not get it done. Your going to need His provision and His protection. Thank God for His promise of both! I highly recommend the surrender of self to Jesus as the answer to all your troubles! Truly the only way up is down!

The Shining Of The Son

He has set a tabernacle for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber - Psalm 19:4-5

The first day of creation started in darkness. God said let there be light. The Sun has been shining ever since. It comes up every day, and goes down every night. The new day actually starts at midnight. In Hebrew tradition, the day starts in the evening when darkness covers the earth. The sun rises and shines forth as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber. This tells me several things. In creation, God was already showing the coming of a savior. He was telling us that even in the darkest hour, light is coming. Before man was ever created, God was already showing that He had made provision for us. Even on a cloudy day, the clouds can't completely cover the brightness of the sun. Even though we can't see it, it is still there illuminating the day. In the same way, in your darkest hour, God has already provided the way. There may be a time in life when things seem unclear and cloudy to you, God is still lighting the way. Every day you can look in the sky and see the sun and be reminded of God's provision for you. Jesus is the light that expels all the darkness.

Seeking His Truth

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (King James Version) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Ever wonder why it is that the Bible changes over time? Of course that is not true. God’s Word remains constant. What changes are the eyes through which the scripture is viewed—the minds in which the scripture is interpreted. Does it make sense to us to consider the interpretation of generations of Christians gone by as being interpretations that have missed the mark? What makes us believe our generation knows better than they? Truth be told, there is much interpretation being done that is heavily influenced by selfish desire and societal influence. As we approach God’s Word, we must be willing to abandon all we think we know and discover His Truth as His Spirit would reveal it. We cannot let the world around us dictate how God’s Word should be understood; but we must let God’s Word be the measure by which we understand the world.

Victory

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. - Psalm 34:19

There's no problem or trouble today that God can't get you through. There's no impossible situation or circumstance that is impossible with God. In Jesus Christ, you can do all things. He is your source of strength, wisdom, peace, endurance and hope. Be encouraged today that if you're going through a tough time, God has promised to see you through it. Keep your faith in Him, and keep your eyes focused on Jesus and the promise that you are going through this as the over-comer, not the victim. Jesus Christ - our deliverer!

Press On

Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. - 1 Timothy 6:11

There are all sorts of evil that attempt to entrap you every day. There's also things that try to occupy your time and your life to pull you away from God. There's doubt and fear that try to pull you out of faith. There's circumstances and evil forces that try to get you into anger, frustration and hate to pull you away from an attitude of love. There's the little voices that tell you to give up, it's not worth the fight. There's the aggravations in life that work on you to cause you to have a short temper and no patience instead of a spirit of gentleness. There's the immorality and ungodliness that comes at you from every direction trying to keep you from living a godly life. Then there is the busyness of life that keeps you from spending time in the Word and in prayer and fellowship with God. If you're going to avoid falling into any of these traps, you're going to have to pursue the things that are right and good. The word "pursue" literally means to "follow after" and "press towards", with the idea of "fleeing" from those things that try to pull you back and off the path of blessing that God has for you. When you make the choice to follow after the things that are pleasing to God, He will be there to give you strength and ability to overcome. When you pursue fellowship and relationship with Jesus, the things that are righteous and godly will become second nature to you. Don't give up - keep on pressing through to victory!

The Teacher

John 14:26 (Amplified Bible) But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

The Holy Spirit is the teacher. He is the one who reveals and teaches truth. He is the comforter. He is the one that was sent when Jesus ascended to heaven. When Jesus was physically here on earth, he could only teach in one physical location at a time. The Holy Spirit has come, without limits, and can be everywhere at once. When Jesus taught, he didn't put sickness, disaster, or any other negative thing on people to teach them a lesson. He taught in spite of the hardships. He taught the principles of the Kingdom of God, where there is no death, no sickness, no worry, no doubt, no fear. In fact, Jesus stated that it's the devil who comes to steal, kill and destroy. So now we can settle the notion once and for all: sickness is not the teacher; fear is not the teacher; disaster is not the teacher; the curse is not the teacher. When God wants to teach you a lesson, the Holy Spirit is the teacher!

Effective Prayer

James 5:14-16 (KJV) Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

In this section of the 5th chapter of James, it is talking about prayer that accomplishes. These verses are not talking about fellowship, but are pointing out a specific aspect of talking to Father God about needs, and more specifically, physical needs. In other words, when you have serious needs that need serious prayer, get prayer or pray with someone who knows who they are in Christ. Someone who knows they are seated in heavenly places with Christ, who knows the authority they have in Jesus, and the power that is available to them that believe. Because the next part of that verse says they are to "pray over him". That does not mean just merely speaking words and making requests while physically standing over a person. It means praying from a position of authority. To pray above the circumstance or problem from a position of inheritance, not alongside from a position of need. In every sense of the word, it means to take authority over a problem, circumstance, sickness or situation from a position of faith knowing what rightfully belongs to you in Christ Jesus! Verse 16 says that it is the effective, fervent prayer, or powerful prayer that gets things done! Some people pray with the attitude that they are going to "bombard the gates of heaven" with their prayers. Why in the world would you want to stay out there? God says to come boldly into the throne room! So when you pray, or when you have someone pray over you, pray with a spirit of power and boldness from your position in Jesus Christ! Look at the person who is about to pray over you, do they know there position in Christ? You don’t won’t someone praying over you that there life is in a disaster because they don’t know the authority they have in Jesus. What I’m saying, you don’t won’t just any one praying for you. Empty words will only produce empty results.

Prayer

Colossians 1:9 (Amplified Bible) For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [[a]special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the [b]full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [[c]in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things--

Prayer. It is one of the most effective, powerful weapons that we as believers have. Prayer is simply talking to Father God. Prayer is what invites Father God into a situation to intervene and change something or someone. When you need someone to talk to, pray. If you feel like complaining, pray instead and ask God to change you, the situation, or give you wisdom to change it or overcome it. Prayer is the way to intercede or intervene on behalf of another. If there is difficulty with another person, pray and ask God to show you how to deal with them, then pray that God also change them and give them spiritual wisdom and understanding too. In these first several verses of Colossians chapter 1, Paul didn't start off by pointing out every area that he felt they were falling short, no, he simply prayed that they would "be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness." That is one of the greatest prayers that you can pray for someone - friend or foe!

Meditations Of The Heart

Psalm 19:14 (Amplified Bible) Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, impenetrable] Rock and my Redeemer.

Why is God so concerned with what is in your heart? Because the condition of your heart, or your inner most being, is your spiritual condition. If what is in your heart is not good, then what shows up in your actions is not going to be good either. God has set you apart to be "light" in a dark world. If you continually focus and meditate on the wrong things, then the words you speak will begin to reflect what you focus and meditate on. Pretty soon your actions will follow your words and your thoughts. That is why so many people are in a depressed, negative state. They continually focus and meditate on the negative things in life. They begin to speak the negative and hopeless things that they have been thinking about. Pretty soon their actions have caught up to their words and thoughts and they go around with a negative outlook, and negative and depressed actions. They are un-motivated, un-inspired and complacent. If these are the habits that you have developed, then make a commitment today to begin to focus and meditate on the positive things of God. As you fill your heart with the promises of God, your words can't help but follow what you're thinking, and what is on the inside will begin to show up on the outside. You will begin to be able to bring light into the dark circumstances of this world. That light is Jesus himself, and when Jesus shows up on the scene, things change!

First Hand

1 John 1:3, NKJV: We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

God intercedes in our lives. But you have to wonder how much of what He does goes completely unnoticed by us. If only our first thoughts could always be to look for His hand in things, and not ours.If only our first desire each day could be to consider our day as another chance to get even closer to Him. I’m convinced that if our hearts delighted in Him in this way, that we would notice far more of what He is doing each day--each moment. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” It’s easier to hear His voice when we are near Him. It’s easier to see His hand at work in our lives at times we are closest to Him. It’s easier to witness His work in our lives and the lives of others when we strive to abide in Christ. His faithfulness today will be our hope for tomorrow. As we reflect upon all the things we have seen God do, we will be greatly encouraged and our faith will be made stronger. And when we testify to others about our Lord Jesus Christ, our testimonies will be filled, story after story, with the wonderful things we have witnessed God do first hand.

Taking On Too Much

She considers a [new] field before she buys or accepts it [expanding prudently and not courting neglect of her present duties by assuming other duties]; with her savings [of time and strength] she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard. - Proverbs 31:16

Living beyond your means. It can take it's toll on you and eventually rob you of your joy and your peace. This can be avoided by simply using a little wisdom. Do you really need it? Can you afford it? Do you have time for it? Most importantly, did God tell you to do it? Acting in faith when God told you to do something is totally different than jumping headlong into something then expecting God to cover you. Remember the devil tried to coax Jesus into throwing himself down from a high place saying "He will give His angels charge over you…" - don't fall for the devil's old tricks. Don't let the devil trick you into throwing yourself down from the place of being an overcomer to being under his yoke of slavery - the "world's way of doing things" - always under the gun, over-extended, always financially strapped, never enough time for your family, etc. Will God help you out of a mess if you ask Him? Of course, but why go through it if you can avoid it in the first place? Wisdom says it is much better to pray, and act on faith instead of impulse.

Blessings

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (The Message) Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.

How has God blessed you? Can you think of a particular way, or perhaps even several ways that He has blessed you? Take a moment and give Him thanks for His blessings. Now then, have any of your blessings been times of darkness, pain, or struggle? Can you think of God’s blessings in times of sorrow and loss? It’s not something we often think of. Nevertheless, the idea is a simple one: if you are a child of God, you are always blessed. You are blessed in the good times, and blessed in the bad times. For as a child of God, there is nothing that comes into your life that God doesn’t permit. Everything you experience, every peak and every valley, are all allowed into your life for reasons that God alone may know. But know this, as God’s child, you are loved by God. Your Heavenly Father will do nothing to harm you, and in fact, will actively love you through every circumstance of your life. It may not seem easy to associate your darkest times as times of blessings, but try. You may discover anew a wonderful side of God that comes as you are able to give God thanks in everything, and trust Him in all things.

Tending Your Garden

Mark 4:26-27 (NKJV) And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.

When a farmer plants his seed in a field, it doesn't end there. He doesn't just sit around looking at the clock or the calendar and wait on his harvest. If that farmer wants the most out of the harvest he has coming, he's going to have to tend that field. He's going to have to get in there and keep the weeds pulled out, the insects out and any other thing that would seek to destroy or harm his crop. In the same way, we're going to have to keep a watch on our spiritual gardens if we want to produce any fruit. There are spiritual weeds - the cares of this life and mental strongholds. We'll have to learn to cast those cares on Jesus and not be anxious or worried about anything. We'll have to learn to take our thoughts captive and get rid of every negative thought. We'll have to learn to pray to break those mental strongholds that keep us from walking in faith. As you renew your mind to the Word of God, your are planting spiritual seed. Seed that when watered with faith, will produce a harvest. However, if you don't tend your garden, you may not see any results of that seed.

Have a Blessed day
